School  Party “LOVE IS……!”

Teacher: Good afternoon, dear pupils and guests. It's so lovely to meet you here at our party, which is called “LOVE IS….!” The patron of love is a priest named St. Valentine. He lived a long time ago. Claudius II who was Emperor at that time made a law that no one could become engaged or married. He was afraid that if men had sweethearts or wives, they wouldn't want to fight in wars. But Valentine felt sorry for young people who were in love. So he married them secretly. When Emperor found it he had Valentine put to death. Some people say this happened on February 14th.

Today we’ll see how people say about their love nowadays and how they did it in the past.

First of all I propose you to watch a wonderful performance about two sweethearts Cinderella and her Prince, which shows you love in the past. I hope you will enjoy it.

Scene I

Stepmother: There will be a ball in the King's palace. Let's go to the ball.

Stepsisters: Great! Fantastic!

1 Stepsister: Cinderella, give me my white dress!

Cinderella: Here it is!

2 Stepsister: Cinderella! Give me my hat and the mirror!

Cinderella: Here they are!

1 Stepsister: Give me my fan!

Cinderella: Here it is!

1 Stepsister: Cinderella, would you like to go to the ball?

Cinderella: Oh, don't laugh at me. I have neither a beautiful dress nor glass shoes

2 Stepsister: Of course not. You can't go to the ball.

1 Stepsister: Yes, she is too dirty to go there.

Stepmother: Well, my dear, let's go to the ball!

Scene II

Fairy: Why are you crying my dear child? Please, don't cry!

Cinderella: I can't go to the ball. I have neither beautiful dresses nor glass shoes.

Fairy: I'll help you and you will go to the ball. Here are glass shoes and a white dress. But remember. You must go home when the clock strikes 12.

Cinderella: Oh, thank you very much!

Scene III

(in the King's palace)

King: Look at that beautiful girl!

Prince: Oh, how beautiful she is! May I dance with you?

Cinderella: With pleasure!

Prince and Cinderella are dancing. The clock strikes 12.

Cinderella: Oh. It's 12 o'clock. I must go!

Cinderella is running away and losing her shoe.

 Scene IV

♫ The song “My Bonny” ♫

My Bonny lies over the ocean

My Bonny lies over the sea

My Bonny lies over the ocean,

Oh, bring back my Bonny to me!

 Bring back, bring back

Bring back my Bonny to me, to me

 Bring back, bring back

Oh, bring back my Bonny to me!

Last night when I lay on my pillow

Last night when I lay on by bed

Last night when I lay on my pillow

I dreamt that my Bonny was dead.

The winds have blown over the ocean

The winds have blown over the sea

The winds have blown the ocean

And brought back my Bonny to me!

Cinderella: Did you like the ball?

1 Stepsister: Yes, very much, there was a beautiful girl at the ball.

2 Stepsister: She ran away and lost her glass shoes.

Stepmother: Prince wants to marry her!

(Prince and heralds are coming)

Herald: Please, try on this glass shoe!

1 Stepsister: Oh. It's too small for me!

Herald to Cinderella: Will you try it on?

Stepmother: Oh, it's our Cinderella

Cinderella: But I want to try it on!

(Cinderella puts on the shoes)

Stepsisters: Oh, Cinderella, we beg your pardon.

Cinderella: Never mind. I pardon you.

Prince: I love you!

   The song “Oh, my darling!”

Oh, my darling, oh, my darling

Oh, my darling, Valentine

How I love you, how I love you

Darling Valentine, be mine!

Teacher: This was a love story about Cinderella and her prince. And now let’s imagine that we are at the disco and see how young people say about their love.

(Children are at the disco. They are dancing and singing the song)

♫ The song “Hokey Pokey” ♫

You put your right foot in

You put your right foot out

You put your right foot in

And you shake it all about

You do the Hokey Pokey

And you turn yourself around

That is all about!

(left foot, right hand, left hand, head, hole self)

Wendy: I have got an e-mail massage from Manuel!

My pen is black

   My ink is pale

   My love to you

   Will never fail!

(from Manuel)

Cindy: I have got some red roses form Oscar!

Oscar: I jump up and down,

When you are in the room

               I hope you’ll be

               My Valentine soon!

Lin: And I haven’t got anything! Nobody loves me! (Lin is crying)

Wendy: We love you Lin!

Oscar: Oh, look here’s Eddy!

Eddy: Hi, Lin! This is for you! (He gives her a box of chocolates)

Lin: Thank you, Eddy! (She opens the box)

But, Eddy, where are my chocolates?

Eddy: I love chocolates! Sorry, Lin!

♫ The song “I love you!”

I love you, you love me

We are happy family!

With a big great heart

And a kiss from me to you

Won’t you say you love me, too!

I love you, you love me

We’re best friends like friends should be!

         With a big great heart

And a kiss from me to you

Won’t you say you love me, too!

Teacher: This was an interesting performance! And let’s play some games!

The 1st game: “A sad sheep!”

Every our hero is happy today, because they have presents! But look at this sad sheep, it hasn’t got any presents! Her tail will be the best present for her! This is her tail, let’s put it in its place!

The 2nd game: “A postman”

There are some letters but we don’t know who are they to. Your task is to read these letters, listen to them and write who are they to.

The 3d game: “The better teller of the poems about love!”

Children, are you happy today? So let’s sing a song!

♫ The song “If you are happy!” ♫

If you are happy and you know it, clap your hands

If you are happy and you know it, clap your hands

If you are happy and you know it,

And you really want to show it, clap your hands!

(stamp your feet, give a yell ’hooray’)

Children, our party is over! Good bye!
