Text"London"
Mr. Kipling, a tourist from Texas (USA) visited London. He was walking along a busy street. He wanted to go to Oxford Street but he didn't know the way. He asked a stranger, who was a Londoner how to get there. Mr. Kipling was a rather talkative man. He began to tell the stranger that he liked London and yesterday he visited Buckingham Palace. He said, "I think London is a very small town and Buckingham Palace is small too. My ranch-house is bigger than Buckingham Palace".
The Londoner was surprised and got very angry but he didn't show it as he was reserved and well-bred man. "The buildings are so small in London because we build them very quickly", he said.
"But I read in a book that England is the country of traditions and slow change, everything happens slowly", Mr. Kipling said.
The Londoner disagreed with Mr. Kipling, "Wfe do things quicker than you do in Texas", he said. At that moment they were walking near a skyscraper. The Londoner pretended that he was surprised. Mr. Kipling pointed to the skyscraper and said: "What is so strange for you? The skyscraper is only 30 stories. It is not so tall as skyscrapers in New York".
"I came this way only yesterday and this skyscraper wasn't there!" said the Londoner smiling.
