Позакласний захід для учнів старших класів.

Мета заходу:

• ознайомити учнів зі звичаями країни, мова якої вивчається.
• розвивати соціокультурну компетенцію учнів з використанням матеріалу, пов’язаного з історією, святами та традиціями Великобританії;
• розвивати мовленнєві навички та логічне мислення;
• розвивати творчі здібності та естетичне сприйняття навколишнього світу.
• на основі змагань розвивати вміння та навички працювати в парах;
• виховувати інтерес до вивчення традицій англомовних країн.

Обладнання: плакати, мультимедійна дошка, кольорові кульки, фонограми пісень.

                      Хід заходу

Свято розпочинається виконанням пісні “Only Hope” by Mandy Moor (співає учениця). Під звуки музики в  глядацькому залі з’являються ведучі програми:

Presenter1 – Dear friends! You are welcome to our party dedicated to St.Valentine’s Day which is always held on February 14^th and brings us happiness and good luck. St. Valentine’s Day is one of the most popular holidays in Europe and the USA. It’s the day when boys and girls, sweethearts and lovers, husbands and wives exchange valentines. Traditionally you must never write your name on it.

Presenter2 – Love! Happiness! Beauty! There are not so many days in the year when we say these pleasant words. Today you have an excellent chance to watch our performance. Happy St. Valentine’s Day!

I’d like to tell you a legend about this holiday.

When the Roman Emperor Claudius II needed soldiers, he made a low against marriage. Claudius believed that single young men made better soldiers and marriage would make man want to stay at home.

A kind priest, Valentine by name, saw the love of young couples, so he married them secretly against the law. But Valentine was discovered to death.

Давня легенда каже,  що священик Валентин порушив указ римського імператора Клавдія ІІ, який забороняв женитися солдатам. Бачачи любов молодих людей священик таємно вінчав їх. Непокірного священика Валентина видали, і він був засуджений до смерті.

4-й учень Legend 2.

 Another legend says that Saint Valentine was a good friend of children. He was a Christian. He would not worship the Roman goods. That’s why he was put into prison. While he was there the children that he had befriended missed him and brought him loving notes.

Even in prison Valentine Showed his love for everyone.

His jailer had a young daughter who was blind. And Valentine performed a miracle. He cured  the jailer’s daughter of her blindness. Just before his death on February 14, he sent a farewell letter “ From your Valentine”. And this day named the St.Valentine’s   Day”.

Інша легенда каже, що святий Валентин був другом дітей. Він був християнином і не поклонявся римським богам. За це його посадили у в’язницю. У той час, коли Валентин перебував у в’язниці, діти, яким він допомагав, сумували за ним. Вони приносили записи, в яких висловлювали свою любов. І навіть у в’язниці Валентин показав свою любов до кожного . У тюремного наглядача була молода дочка. Вона була сліпою. Валентин зробив диво. Він вилікував її від сліпоти, якраз  перед своєю смертю, 14 лютого. Того дня Валентин надіслав їй прощального листа « Від Валентина». І цей день назвали Днем Святого Валентина.

There are several symbols attached to the romantic festival of Valentine's Day. The most commonly attached Valentine's Day Symbols include Roses, Hearts, Cupid, Lovebirds and Dove besides Love Knots and Laces. Each of these Valentine's Day Symbols has an interesting story about how they become attached with the festival.

The rose was the flower of Venus, the Roman goddess of love.  Red is a color that stands for strong feelings. This is why the red rose is a flower of love.

Троянда – була квіткою Венери, богині кохання. Червоний колір виражає сильні почуття. Ось чому червона троянда – це квітка кохання.

•             The rose is a symbol of secret, silence and love. The largest rosebush is the size of a football field.
•             The buds of the smallest rose are the size of a grain of rice.
•             People use roses to make parfume. You can make jam, jelly and candy from roses.
•             A white rose means "You are wonderful". A red rose says — "I love you!"
•             A pink rose "Please, believe me!" A rose without thorns means love at the first sight.

But the Red rose is not the only emblem of the Valentine's Day. There are other symbols of the feast Day of Saint Valentina.

Red heart pierced by the Cupid's arrow is a traditional symbol of Valentine's Day. Heart symbolizes love and giving someone a heart means to hand over one's existence to someone. A heart pierced by a Cupid's arrow means that when someone presents a heart, the person takes the risk of being rejected and feeling hurt. Piercing arrow therefore symbolizes death and vulnerability of love. Some people also believe that the heart and arrow symbolizes the uniting of male and a female.

Розповсюдженим символом у наш час є «Валентинки». До речі, най­старіша «Валентинка» зберігається в Бри­танському музеї в Лондоні. Вона підписана Герцогом Орлеанським у 1415 році своїй улюбленій дружині. «Валентинки» — ма­ленькі записочки один одному, в яких пи­шуть тільки добрі слова, сердечні привітан­ня і найкращі побажання. За традицією, та­ка листівка не підписується, але має бути адреса, щоб адресат зміг дізнатися, хто її ав­тор.

В XVI ст. картки-листівки стали популярни­ми і більш декоративно оформленими. У 1797 році в Англії було популярне видан­ня «Інструкція для молодого чоловіка з на­писання Валентинок», яке містило багато віршів, для тих, хто сам не міг нічого приду­мати.

Winged little angel called Cupid is one of the very famous Valentine's Day Symbols. The symbol traces its origin from the Roman mythology where Cupid has been described as the son of Venus - the Goddess of Love. It is believed that Cupid had a bow with a quiver of arrows and anyone hit by Cupid's arrow did not die but fell in love. According to a myth, it was Cupid's mother Venus who used to send him on such errands.

Doves are an endearing and prominent Valentine's Day symbols. Reason why doves are considered strongly as a symbol of Valentine's Day is that while doves signify purity, innocence and humbleness picture of lovebirds conjures up the vision of couple in love.

Love knot is yet another symbol of Valentine's Day. Representing love that will last forever, love knots are actually a series of winding and intertwining loops that have neither a beginning nor an end.

Laces and ribbons are a delicate Valentine's Day symbol. Their association with love and romance can be traced to ancient times. At that time when kings and knights went to battles their ladylove presented laces to them.

До речі, у багатьох країнах по-різному свят­кують День Святого Валентина. В Італії іта­лійці вважають своїм обов'язком дарувати своїм коханим солодощі. Цей день так і на­зивають — «Солодкий». А ось у романтич­ній Данії прийнято надсилати поштою засу­шені білі квіти.

Але є такі країни, в яких особливо відріз­няється святкування цього свята.

Н-д, в Японії це свято суто чоловіче. Ві­тають тільки чоловіків. Вважають, що коли підлегла не привітає начальника зі святом, завтра вона буде звільнена.

А Саудівська Аравія  є єдиною у світі країною, де це свято офіційно забо­ронено. Всім магазинам країни категорично    заборонено торгувати «Валентинками» та різною символікою, яка стосується цього    свята. А квіткові магазини в цей день не продають червоних троянд. Тож нам із вами    дуже поталанило, що ми не живемо в Са­удівській  Аравії  та  можемо  вітати  своїх близьких у цей день.

We've got four pairs, and we shall see which pear knows more about the holiday.

У нас є чотири пари і ми побачимо, яка з них найбільше знає про свято, і яка з них є найбільш творчою та талановитою.

Конкурс 1 “Guess proverbs”                      «Відгадай прислів’я» 

1.  Love is conquers all.                          A)  Кохання і кашель неможливо приховати.

2.  Where there is love, there is life.        B) Не везе в коханні – повезе у грі.

3.  Love and cough cannot be hid.          C) Кохання сліпе.

4.  Love cannot be compelled.                D) Насильно милим не будеш.

5.  Love is blind.                                      E) Де кохання, там – життя.

6.  Love is never without jealousy.          F)  Кохання перемагає все.

7.  Unlucky in love, lucky in play.           G) Не має кохання без ревнощів.

T. Sometimes we can't just talk about what we want we must show it! So, try to pantomime these wishes to your Valentine so that he can name them.

Дівчата показують свої бажання пантомімою, а хлопці повинні відгадати, що вони хочуть.

(Команди отриму­ють серця з бажаннями, які вони повинні показа­ти своєму Валентину)
