Мета: To teach children how to name countries and nationalities, ask about someone's origin, and use the verb "to be" in simple sentences.

Цілі:

• Educational: To learn 6 countries and nationalities; to practice the forms of the verb "to be" (am, is, are).

• Developmental: To improve memory, attention, and basic speaking skills through repetition and games.

• Social: To encourage curiosity about the world and different cultures.

Обладнання: Textbook (p. 5), flag flashcards, world map, and a "traveler" puppet.

Хід уроку

І. Організаційний момент (Warm-up)

• Greeting and Introduction: The teacher introduces themselves ("I am from Ukraine") and asks students about their origin.
• Flashcard Quiz: The teacher shows flags of different countries, and students try to name them.

ІІ. Основна частина уроку

1. Візуальна презентація та повторення (Visual Presentation and Repetition):

"Point and Say": Students look at the characters from different countries. The teacher says: "She is from Spain. She is Spanish." Students repeat chorally and individually.

"Echo" Game: The teacher whispers a country name, and the students shout back the corresponding nationality.

2. Читання та граматична практика (Reading and Grammar Practice):

Story Reading: Students read a short text about a boy named Manuel. The teacher highlights how "I", "He/She", and "We" change the form of the verb "to be".

Gap Filling: Students work together to fill in the missing verbs (am, is, are) in the text to complete the story.

3. Мовленнєвий тренінг (Speaking Drill and Interaction):

Flag Fact-Checking: Students look at various flags and answer "Yes/No" questions (e.g., "Is she Polish? – No, she isn't. She is French").

"Secret Identity" Game: One student chooses a nationality, and others ask questions to guess who they are.

4. Аудіювання та рольова гра (Listening and Role Play):

Dialogue Imitation: Students listen to a recording about souvenirs from different countries.

"Souvenir Shop": In pairs, students act out mini-dialogues, talking about objects like a "French perfume" or a "Spanish guitar".

ІІІ. Заключна частина

• Summary: "True or False" game. The teacher makes statements about countries and nationalities, and students clap if the statement is correct.
• Домашнє завдання (Homework): Draw a "Friendship Map" with two friends from different countries and write their nationalities.
