The life is the most valuable that the person can have. Sports, healthy food, correct way of life without bad habits, diets are capable to transform your existence into life without problems with health; you will forget the road to your district clinic.

Introduction

Theme:  healthy way of life.

Actuality of  investigation:  healthy way of life is an actual thing nowadays. It is a part and a parcel of our daily's life because it helps us be active and hard - working, cheerful and optimistic, happy and satisfied. It is possible  when you are healthy.

Object of investigation:  the basis of   healthy way of life.

Subject of investigation:  a healthy person.

Aim of investigation:  to investigate the role of healthy way of life in our life.

Tasks of investigation:   

- to study the phenomenon of human health;

- to determine the term «healthy way of life» and its components;

- to search for the positive influence of  healthy way of life.

Methods of investigation:

- studied materials about the role of health in our life;

- studied our friends’ ways of life to define likeness and difference in them;

- classified habits influencing the people’s life;

- revealed the aspects our students try to follow and avoid.

The scientific novelty:  the best way to promote a healthy way of life is to find motivation so as to be healthy. The best motivation for people is to loll beautiful, to enjoy life and to be free. It is necessary you understand that only being healthy you can enjoy life in its full beauty. As Franklin Adams sais, « Health is the thing that makes you feel that now is the best time of the year»

The practical value of the work:  investigation of healthy way of life helps people reveal the importance of the basis of our health and remember the wise pieces of advice « Never hurry» ,« Take plenty of exercise» , « Always be cheerful», « Take all the sleep you need» , « Healthy habits».

I. Theoretical section.

1.1. Our modern life. What does it look like?

    It is widely known that life expectancy is increasing. But the reason why the average figures are higher than they used to be, say, hundred years ago is not that all people live longer than before. One reason is that, due to medical research, many illnesses were eliminated; the second one is that fewer people die in wars. Generally, the life of  а modern man is endangered by many factors. One is the increasing pollution of the environment by industry and transport; another one is sedentary lifestyle of people living in cities and towns, that is, the majority of the population of the planet. The third one is the quality of food we eat and water we drink which results in a lot of diseases. The fourth one is that living in big cities leads to epidemics, and even pandemics of many catchy illnesses. Unhealthy life results in the fact that many people are overweight.

    The only possible way of preserving your health is, therefore, healthy way of life which includes keeping fit, balanced meals, and giving up unhealthy habits like smoking, drinking alcohol, and, of course, drugs.

 

 

 

1.2. The sense of a healthy way of life.

             To be healthy is very important. You can work, learn and have fun only when you are healthy. Health is the man’s greatest wealth. Of course, you can inherit some problems from your parents. But you can always keep your health if you want to.

           We are healthy when all parts of our bodies and of our minds work together properly. We cannot be happy unless we feel well.

The ancient Greeks knew the value of good health. They even named one goddess Hygenia, which means goddess of health. The Romans spoke of a health in a proverb:” A healthy mind in a healthy body”. The body does a great deal to take care of itself, but it is possible to help the body to work at its best.

            The human body is much more complicated than any machine. No machine can do all the things the body can do. No machine will work for 70 years or more, day and night, requiring only air, water, food and a few simple rules.

             The first rule of healthy way of life is to have normal weight, not to be overweight. One of the ways to keep normal weight is to regulate your diet. A person needs vitamins and fiber. One must eat fruit and vegetables every day. Too much food makes you fat. Fat and sugar give a lot of energy. If the energy is not used it becomes fat in your body. If you eat sweet, fat food, even from time to time, you have to exercise regularly. Physical exercises help people keep fit, have a good gait and figure. They also help you lose weight and work out energy. It is not good to be as thin as a stick, but extra weight can cause serious problems, such as heart problems and diabetics.

          There are a lot of advertisements both on TV and in newspapers of different pills and drops which can help you become slim and slender in two weeks. But all those pills cannot work a miracle.

      There are many books about different methods of loosing weight. But sometimes it may take a person a lot of time even to look through all of them. Probably that’s why people like to follow someone’s advice from her or his friends or mates. We would advise for such people to analyze the way of life they have. The second step will be to take measures so as to change the way of life: to have regular exercises and to move as much as possible, to eat more fruit and vegetables and reject junk food, to eat in small portions at regular hours and be positive in your attitude towards your appearance. We think people should love themselves and take care of their souls and bodies.

          Regular sports help people to avoid these bad habits. What exercises are better? Swimming, jogging, basketball, football, table tennis, skiing or morning exercises? It’s upon a person to choose.

          Is it good to be the healthy person?  How health is directly connected with the person's nutrition? Food should be obligatory useful and balanced, it shouldn't contain harmful substances products. Dishes, which people cook themselves, shouldn't be stuffed by carcinogens, pesticides, and other rubbish which so like to use modern farmers.  Products, which they offer, are full harmful substances. Food should be correct and balanced and the person doesn’t have problems with health.

         Turn the life once and forever, get rid of meat, become on way of healthy way of life. Meat doesn't comprise anything useful that couldn't notice vegetables and fruit, at the same time it brings harmful fats of animal origin in our organism, raises cholesterol level in human body, and finally kills the person. Anything, which is received as a result of murder, can't benefit. Natural products are excellent means to save your health for many long years. Rolling on sofa in front of the TV and eating fatty preservatives which are made by your mother during lifetime make you fat; hamburgers or other fast foods form terrible stomach ulcers and the inflammation of all mucous membranes of human body. Leading a healthy way of life, observing yourself, limiting of using poor-quality and cheap products, using healthy diets are our partners to be and stay healthy .

        The home – made food is really better than junk food. But junk food is associated with spending time with your friends and having fun. That’s why it is so popular among teens. But all of us like our Mums’ home-made food. We usually have our favourite dishes and like to spend time with the family enjoying a Sunday dinner.

      Obviously, a diet of junk food is not the best thing for your health. In today’s fast moving world, people have less and less time to spend eating, let alone cooking. It’s probably for this reason that junk food has become so popular. Teenagers should know that people who prefer burgers and chips, crisps and hot dogs tend to become overweight. Besides, fast food is high in saturated fat. This type of fat is associated with a greater risk of cancer. Nevertheless, healthy eating habits do not mean giving up all your favourite food; it is all about choosing food wisely and preparing meals in a healthier way. The best advice for those who cannot live without hamburgers and chocolate bars, is to limit the amount of junk food they eat. A little now and then will probably do no harm.

        So, a healthy diet is an important part of staying healthy, too. This diet contains reduced amounts of cholesterol, fat, sugar and salt. It helps protect our body from a wide range of diseases; the most dangerous are heart diseases, liver diseases, and cancer. We shouldn’t snack and we should have breakfast. We should eat low- fat food, more fruit and vegetables, milk products, meat,  which are rich in vitamins and proteins. We shouldn’t eat at night. If a person keep to a diet, he must do it carefully, because sometimes diets may be harmful.

       Be sure that life brings you pleasure, instead of problems. First of all correctly balance the food.

1.4. Models of healthy behavior.

           Good health cannot be purchased at a drug store or elsewhere, but can be achieved by practicing certain models of healthy behavior. They are based on conscious choices made from available options. Thus, to preserve your health, you should repeat some healthy habits as part of your daily or weekly life. Of course, it also refers to your eating habits. The resulting benefits include reduced medical costs and the visiting of a doctor visit at the same time. In addition, it allows you to remain independent and improved employee / employer.

          Strict weight control is the key to achieving all the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Imagine a simple weight reduction of only 10 percent can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease and other obesity-related diseases. Being overweight is a key factor leading to many other diseases such as sleep apnea, orthopedic disorders, asthma, diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure, skin diseases, not to mention the emotional and psychosocial problems. Participation  in activities such as walking and strength training can actually increase bone density and begin to reverse these diseases. The benefits are reduced weight, improved physical function, improved welfare, tension and stress, improve self-esteem.

        Exercises and good nutrition help the body use insulin more efficiently and can help control, reduce and prevent many diseases. Diet and exercises, healthy food and weight control, absence of bad habits low blood pressure, reduce the risk of developing diabetes and heart diseases.

        Science has proven that controlled weight loss, healthy eating and exercise routines make dramatic improvements in health control common diseases like hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, stress or lack of resistance. The benefits you get from a healthy lifestyle include: the control of your life that work with your body against the aspects of life that can work for you. In addition, control your sleep patterns to rest all day. In general, everything works together to help other aspects of your life and have an idea.

      With a healthy lifestyle you naturally feel a steady stream of endurance and strength. Apart from that you can perform activities and exercises that will improve the flexibility of your body. Through training you reduce the risk of falls and fractures as you always train, which helps build muscle that supports the bones and joints. Aerobic (cardiovascular) exercises that can strengthen the heart muscle, which will increase your cardiovascular efficiency. As weight-bearing exercise such as walking and strength training can help curb outbreaks of losing weight and strength and prevent osteoporosis.                

      So, you can enjoy the health, even under the condition that you take regular exercise. Secrecy and logic are repeating and chosen healthy pattern of your daily or weekly life.

1.5. Sport and a healthy way of life is a part and parcel of each other.

             Physical fitness is a general state of good physical health. For anyone who really wants to be healthy, fitness has become an integral part of their lives. The fitness boom resulted in a rise in the numbers of people participating in sports and sports activities. It is a well-known fact that even moderate physical activity can protect you from heart diseases and strokes, obesity and influenza. There are many ways of keeping fit. Firstly, you could visit health and fitness clubs. A lot of health and fitness clubs, public leisure centres, huge indoor water parks are very popular among people of all ages. Secondly, regular exercise is necessary. People of different ages can choose or design exercises that will fit them. Some people do aerobics or yoga; others prefer weight training in a gym. Many people prefer walking or jogging which are the cheapest and most accessible sports. Doing some sport or other on a regular basis is the best way of keeping fit. In Russia a number of sports activities are popular among the old and the young: football, swimming, cycling, skiing, skating, fishing, hunting, roller-skating, etc. Mass running competitions gain popularity with Russians. City marathons have become sporting events reported on the radio, television and in the press.

So, sport and exercising is a considerable ingredient of a healthy way of life. Sports develop force, dexterity and accuracy. Going in for sport helps us not only to preserve good physical health but also to breed up a strong character, to be better organized and better disciplined.

        All kinds of sports are useful and healthy but it is not compulsory to go in for sports professionally. Doctors say that twenty minutes’ exercise three times a week is all you need to be fit. Regularly walking the dog around the block, raking leaves, going on short distances on foot, taking the stairs instead of elevators can be considered as exercising. The advantages of being fit are evident. Fitness reduces the risk of different diseases and illnesses, makes you feel healthier, more positive and optimistic, helps you to avoid obesity and gives you strength and energy so that you don’t get tired easily.

      But fitness comes not just from some exercises done now and then but from the way you live all the time. Good eating habits, regular sleeping habits, and plenty of fresh air are all important parts of the way to keep fit. The Department of Health and Human Services indicates that mental health and proper social functioning are essential to your well-being. Maintaining this aspect of a healthy lifestyle includes avoiding or managing stress.

        For anyone who really wants to be healthy, fitness has become an integral part of their lives. A lot of health and fitness clubs, and public leisure centers that were created help people to be fit.

         Besides there are many other opportunities for keeping fit.  First of all it is necessary to do exercises. People of different ages can design exercises that will fit them. Running, jumping, swimming, bending and stretching are among the most popular exercises. Many people prefer jogging, which is the cheapest and the most accessible sport. Walking is a very popular activity too. For example, popular running competitions are now held everywhere. Lots of people want to see if they can run faster than anyone else. The big city marathons have become sporting events. Television and newspapers report about them in detail. In order to keep fit some people do aerobics or yoga; others prefer some kind of weight training in a gym. People can easily learn more about fitness through popular books and videos that are sold almost everywhere. Even moderate physical activity can protect against heart disease and strokes as well as improve general health and the quality of life. Everyone can benefit from being a little more active. Making small changes like using the stairs instead of the lift or walking or cycling instead of taking the bus can help people live a more active, healthier and enjoyable life.

      There are some questions we should ask a fitness coach.

1) Have you got special programs for people who suffer from overweight?

2) Do you advise to have special diets?

3) How much time is it necessary so as to become fit?

1.6. Bad habits.

        Bad habits, such as smoking, drinking alcohol and using drugs, can ruin your health.

        Everybody knows bad habits are hazardous for your health and can lead to fatal diseases like cancer. Smoking should undoubtedly be banned in all public places.

It is harmful for all people and especially for children. It’s known from statistics that smoking kills 2,5 million people a year. Many of them die from lung cancer. Some aren’t even smokers. They are people who live or work with heavy smokers. Also smoking may cause heart diseases and spoil your teeth and skin. 

       So, it is better not to begin smoking because in future you will have to make a lot of efforts so as to get rid of this bad habit.

         Healthy way of life is something abstract and unreachable nowadays? Of course not! Healthy way of life is absolutely real and not so difficult lifestyle habits to bring in life for everyone.
         Certainly, it is not possible for every person to make his lifestyle 100% ideally healthy, and this is not required in most cases.
         But just imagine - if you will improve and make only 5 key aspects of your lifestyle healthier by only 10-20% - which what amazing benefits these improvements will reward your life! Don't think it will improve your life quality by equal 10-20%. Getting multiplied, these 5 simple lifestyle improvements will change your health and life cardinally and totally.
      Better health, more energy, better work results, less fatigue, more joy in family and everywhere, great and constant feeling of happiness, powerful stress resistance and more, and more...
And we don't even speak about diseases. It's absolutely clear - anyone can be laid up, so it's much better to prevent an illness by following healthy way of life.

So, you are ready for new healthy life but suppose it will be difficult? Not at all!

2.2. Healthy way of life includes 5 key parts.

     1. Daily regime that presupposes enough of sleeping hours, regular meals, proper time for work and relax. All parts of your life organically and significantly improve each other, when every of them is treated at right time and in proper manner.
      2. Healthy meal. What can be better than a well-balanced diet that brings your body exactly what it needs? When speaking about "well-balanced» we mean a balance both between the pleasure from your favourite meals and their usefulness for your body. A proper diet is not something about limiting yourself; it is about harmony of properly selected foods especially for you.
      3. Being not addicted to bad habits - including in the list of bad habits oversleeping and overeating. Your mind and body should master your habits, not vice versa. If some of your habits make good for your mind, but the same time are bad for your body - something should be revised in your lifestyle. Everything you do must bring harmoniously balanced benefits for your mind, soul and body.
      4.  Keeping fit that helps you to be in a good shape, to feel more energetic after working out, to get rid of stress with the help of physical charge. Today you have a great variety of methods helping to keep fit: morning exercises, gym, swimming pool, jogging, aerobics, yogi, fitness training. Again, the right criteria to choose the proper solution from these variants for you: you should like it, both physically and mentally. If not - try something another and you will find surely. As a yogic proverb says: "Body is the very first exam for a human".
      5. Good mood. It is very important to be in a good form physically and mentally - positive mood is not just good emotions. Joy and good mood are very powerful cleaning and healing energy for your mind, body and soul. That's why a real sincere joy may dramatically strengthen any curing process. And very often - to replace it fully.
      Nowadays there are a lot of methods, tools, solutions, natural health remedies and therapies  to help you live in a balanced healthy way of life. Try them, find the ones that are the best especially for you. Healthy way of life - is the way of love and harmony between your body, mind and soul. And the wrong way is the way of limiting some of your parts or struggle between them - this is the fastest way to illnesses.
      Following healthy way of life makes you more energetic, active, gives you new emotions and wonderfully changes all aspects of your living - it guides you to the best your life scenario.

2.3. Our basis for a healthy way of life.

       During this year we have been working on the project “Healthy way of life.”

Every day we hear the word “health” and know that it’s very important in our life. But what does it mean? According to the World Health Organization: “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

       Health is a priceless property of  both a person and society. Meeting our friends and relatives we wish them to be healthy because it’s one of the main conditions of being happy. Health helps us to follow our dreams, solve problems and overcome difficulties. Keeping good health provides long and active life. But how to be healthy? It’s a difficult question to answer.

        The aim of our research was to work out some advice helping people to be healthy. To achieve this aim we:

  •                studied materials about the role of health in our life;
  •                studied our friends’ ways of life to define likeness and difference in them;
  •                classified habits influencing the people’s life;
  •                made a sociological interrogation and revealed the aspects our students try to    

      follow and avoid.

        Now we are going to present the results of our work.

Since early times people have been thinking about healthy way of life. Their thoughts are reflected in different proverbs and sayings. Such proverbs can be found in many languages what proves the importance of this topic. Here you see some of them.

     So, you see that in different languages proverbs are different but they all mean the same: money won’t please you if you don’t have good health. Then it’s easy to become ill but it’s difficult to get rid of the illness and of course you should follow some rules and advice to be healthy. What rules are they?

     There are a lot of people in the world and they spend their lives differently. They have various habits influencing people’s lives. Firstly, we’ve studied medical recommendations and revealed some habits everyone should avoid if he/she wants to be healthy.

Look at the spidegramme.

  1.            Physical inactivity. (It can make your muscular system inefficient and vital organs undeveloped).
  2.            Not getting enough sleep. (It has a bad effect on your skin and capacity to work).
  3.            Snacking, skipping meals. (It leads to obesity, digestion problem, diabetes and other diseases).

    And there are absolutely mortal habits.

  1.            Smoking.
  2.            Drinking alcohol.
  3.            Drugs taking. (They break down the nerve system, completely destroy the organism and shorten the life in several times).

But what do the doctors and health specialists usually recommend us to do?

  1.                         Keeping active/ doing exercise. (It’s of great value to most individuals because they improve and maintain the general all-round fitness, increase strength, endurance, coordination and as they relax muscles they relax mind).
  2.                         Good night rest. (It helps you to look attractive and capable for work)
  3.                         Spending time on fresh air. (It does a lot of good to your circulation and appearance).
  4.                         Balanced dieting. (It is very important for your organism. It gives nutritive material, all vitamins and minerals necessary for life.

At first glance these rules are not difficult at all. But do most of us try to follow them? We made a sociological interrogation and asked students from 15 to 19 from our medical school. What results we received.

90% do morning exercises.

74% try to eat main meals instead of snacking.

76% prefer to eat sweets and chocolate instead of fruit and vegetables.

6% go to bed before 24.00 pm.

50% go in for sport regularly.

44% often walk in the fresh air.

30% smoke.

30% drink energetic or alcohol drinks.

0% use drugs

     To make a conclusion we may say that students of our establishment try to do morning exercises and not to skip meals. But mainly it’s because they have good breakfast at home and lunch at our canteen and they go in for sport after classes. Some of the students do morning exercises. They attend sport sections in our medical school and in some other establishments. But the problem is that many students go to bed late and some of them smoke or drink energetic. When we asked teens why they do it we had four variants of answers.

The first reason is curiosity. (15%)

35 % want to present themselves as adults.

20 % imitate the friends’ behavior.

30 % do it because they like it.

Be attentive! If you don’t want this bad habits turn your life into a nightmare we advise you to read more information about this problem and follow your parents’ and teachers’ recommendations.

 

To sum everything up we may offer the following things. If you want to be in a good health we suggest you to follow ten basic rules.

1. Get enough sleep.

2. Do morning exercises.

3. Keep to a diet.

4. Do not constantly think about your failures.

5. Change the way of life if you feel bad.

6. Make realistic aims.

7. Get rid of bad habits.

8. Become tempered.

9. Get rid of complexes.

10. Avoid useless and bad advice.

      Obey the following rules for wellness to keep your immune system functioning proper and working for you to prevent diseases and put life into your years and years into your life.

Dietary Wellness is the foundation for having a healthier, happier, more youthful life, an actually reversing disease. Do you really care enough about yourself to gain optimum health Eternal Youth is your choice!

  1. Healthy diet must be a life long endeavor.
  2. Digestion starts in the mouth, chew your food well.
  3. Avoid ice cold beverage and do not drink beverages with meals.
  4. Do not eat heavy foods upon arising or before retiring.
  5. Eat only when very hungry.
  6. Rest on the seventh day.
  7. Do not consume saturated fats.

Aerobic (cardiovascular) exercises that can strengthen the heart muscle, which will increase your cardiovascular efficiency. As weight-bearing exercise such as walking and strength training can help curb outbreaks of losing weight and strength and prevent osteoporosis.
