    (УРОК З ВИКОРИСТАННЯМ МУЛЬТИМЕДІЙНИХ ТЕХНОЛОГІЙ)

Цілі: навчальна: узагальнити мовний матеріал з теми “The World of Books”, удосконалювати мовленнєву, мовну та соціокультурну компетенцію учнів, формувати навички вживання пасивного стану дієслів, вчити висловлювати свої думки, працювати з інтерактивною дошкою, тестами; розвивальна: розвивати пізнавальну активність, вчити аналізувати й удосконалити матеріал, робити висновки; виховна: розширювати кругозір дітей, виховувати повагу до вподобань учнів у читанні, розвивати навички співробітництва.

Обладнанння: інтерактивна дошка, роздавальний матеріал із тестовими завданнями, учнівські презентації, учительська презентація.

Тип уроку: узагальнюючий.

1. ORGANIZATION MOMENT

GREETING AND INTRODUCTIONARY

T. Good morning, boys and girls! Glad you meet here. I hope you are all ready for our lesson. Please, complete the following sentences with one word, and you will guess the topic of our lesson.

T. Are you fond of reading books? So, the theme of our lesson is “Books in my life” (see slide 2).

T. Now, read these proverbs and say how you understand them? Do you agree with them?

P1. I fully agree with them. It seems to me books help us in self-education and in solving problems of life.

P2. Books help to discover new things and to explore new ideas.

P3. I think reading is important because books can teach us how to behave in different situations.

P4. As for me, I can’t imagine my life without books. And I really believe that the more you read, the more you know. From the beginning of our childhood we are surrounded by a lot of books which help us to become smarter and wiser.

3. MAIN PART OF THE LESSON

Vocabulary

T. To be successful of your work, let’s review the material you we’ve already learnt. So, look at the board and match these word-combinations with their translations.

T. As a famous proverb says: “Many man, many minds …” You know, some pupils of your class had a task to interview people of different ages to find out what kinds of books they prefer to read. And here is a result of their work. Listen to the interviews very attentively to be able to answer these questions.

Grammar. The use of the Passive Voice

T. I think that only a skilful writer can create very exciting books. Well, a bit later, we’ll find out if you know world famous writers well. But first, let’s recall the formation of the Passive Voice as I want you to use it while speaking about well-known books and their authors.

Group work

T. And now unite into 4 groups. Your task is to use some facts given on the cards in making short stories about books and authors and share this information with your friends.

(Учні працюють у групах із картками, на яких подана ключова інформація, доповідач знайомить усіх з результатами роботи своєї групи.)

Watching presentations

T. Thank you! Well done! You know, there is a very good proverb “Choose an author as you choose a friend”. Do you agree with it? Do you have favorite books and writers? So, it’s time to watch a presentation, prepared by your friends. So watch it very attentively and be ready to do our next task.

T. Many people can’t imagine their life without books. And in my mind, it’s true that “A room without books is a body without soul”. But have you ever thought of the first books? What were they like? So another group of your form prepared a presentation on the history of the books. Your task is to listen to  the information about first writings. But let’s practice some words first: “From the history of books”.

• Clay tablets – глиняні дощечки;

• wax tablets – воскові дощечки;

• codex – стародавній рукопис;

• Papyrus rolls – папірусні рулони.
