Theme: "Healthy and Unhealthy Food" .

Aims:

to develop pupil's listening, speaking, writing and reading skills;

  • to develop pupils' quick reaction and ability to select necessary worlds;
  • to broaden pupils' knowledge on the topic "Food";
  • to teach pupils to cooperate in group;
  • to engraft healthy way of life;
  • to help students learn how to keep to a healthydiet in their everyday lives

I.Organization moment

1.Greeting

T: Good morning. It's nice to see you.

T: Let us smile when we say “Good morning",

For a smile makes our faces bright,

Let us smile when we say “Good morning",

For a smile starts the lesson all right.

T: Sit down, please. And show me your mood at the beginning of our lesson.

T: O.K. I see that all of you have a good mood. I suppose that at the end of the lesson you'll have very good mood too.

Our topic today is “Healthy and Unhealthy Food". During our lesson we are going to speak about healthy food,healthy habits, unhealthy food . You'll present your project works and we'll try to find out how our health depends on the lifestyle we lead.

5.Warming -up

You see, children, today at breakfast news I've watched an interesting programme about cooking Italian food. I like Italian food and one of my best dishes is Italian noodles or pasta. And I've brought some to you. Look! How tasty it is!

What is the usual set of its dishes? What does the “Happy meal" consist of? (French fries, Coca-Cola or juice, a hamburger or cheeseburger).

T:Game “Healthy Happy Meal". I've got two “Happy Meal" boxes for 2 groups of 4 pupils. The food inside these boxes is mixed. You have got only 1 minute to do the following tasks:

Group #1:Fill the lunch box only with healthy food.

Group #2:Fill the lunch box only with unhealthy food.

T: You time is up. Let's see what you've got. Name the food you have chosen for your box.

I wish you didn't have an unhealthy lunch box for your meals. For most people all over the world right food is the main part of their lifestyle. And that's why we say “you are what you eat". Do you want to be healthy? Then, eat the lunch box with healthy meal! Do you want to be unhealthy and weak? Don't? Then, you mustn't eat the food from the other box. If you lead a healthy diet you are healthy. If you don't lead a healthy diet you are not very healthy.

So, eat regularly, drink lots of water, have enough sleep, keep active, have a regular rest. This will keep you fit, healthy and slim.

  • 2.Our health depends on different things. What are they? They are: our habits, the food we eat, physical activity. Let's begin with our habits.

  • -snacking
  • -skipping breakfast
  • -smoking
  • -taking drugs
  • -physical inactivity
  • -sleeping too much or too little
  • How do bad habits influence our health?
  • -they could lead to diseases

  • -such habits as taking drugs, drinking alcohol or smoking are really deadly and could be cause of death

eating between meals, snaking, skipping breakfast, sleeping too little or too much .I think you will agree with me if a person wants to be healthy he should have health habits.

Name good habits:

  • -eating healthy food, regular meals, sleeping 7-8 hours, doing morning exercising, playing sports.
  • So, to stay healthy for a long time we should have good habits and to avoid bad ones.
