Також схема деяких ігор підходить не лише при вивченні даної теми.

Topic `Directions. Places`
There is a /an… There are some … There isn`t a/an….. There aren`t any….
It works very well as a warmer to start a lesson. Give the card to the team or individual students and have them compete.
Example cards: Name as many places as you can, Name as many directions as you can, Name as many places near your school as you can, Name as many places near your house as you can, Name places in alphabetical order, etc.
The students think of three sentences, two are facts and one is a line. One by one, students introduce themselves and say their three sentences. The rest of the class has to guess which one is a lie.
Example:
1.There`s a new museum near my cousin`s house.
2. There isn`t a swimming pool opposite my school.
3. There aren`t any parks in our City.
Students image they`re describing their area/school/home to a blind person. They have to describe in detail everything about it to their partner, he/she DRAWS IT and write the name of the place.
Example:
Around the school building .Write a sentence of about seven words with each word on a separate piece of paper. Leave the pieces of paper pinned to the walls in different parts of the school. On each piece of paper write instructions of where to find the next piece.
Example:
Go downstairs. Go past the canteen and turn left..
Turn left and look beside the third door on the right.
Go upstairs. Go past the essembly hall and turn right.
Turn right and look beside the fifth door on the left.
The students follow the instructions, making a note of the seven words that they find. They then put the words into the correct order.
Teacher says the definition of the place. Students have to guess and say the place when the teacher stops saying and claps.
Example:
Teacher: a place where people keep or borrow money and provide financial services (CLAP)
Students : bank
All you need is toilet paper. Teacher offers to tear off some squares of toilet paper WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATIONS! When everybody has toilet paper teacher explains the rulers. Every person must say as many sentences about the topic as many squares of toilet paper he/she has.
Example: Topic `Directions`. 3 squares - turn right, on the corner,opposite.
Topic`Places`.2 squares – school,park etc.

PLACES!
Writing warmer. Visualise a PLACE while you suggest its description. They use their picture to write a composition.
Teacher starts the story. Students one by one complete the story.
Example:
Go out of school. And turn right into …Street. Go down ..Street. On the crossroad turn left. Turn left into …Street. Cross….Street. Go past the supermarket. Go down …. You can`t miss it. We`re near the Underground.
Students have to think about their Ideal School or City. Using There`s /There are or There isn`t / There aren`t write sentences about it.
