The aim of the lesson:

To introduce the students to the traditional Ukrainian dishes and develop their language skills through a flipped English lesson.

Teacher’s objectives:

-Introduce the traditional Ukrainian dishes and their cultural significance.

-Facilitate language development through reading, listening, writing and speaking.

-Foster digital literacy by incorporating online resources.

-Encourage collaboration and communication among students.

Pre-lesson task:

Before the lesson, students will be assigned to explore the additional materials, research and gather information about the traditional Ukrainian dishes. They should come prepared with details about the dishes’ ingredients, preparation method, and cultural significance.

 

Procedure:

Before the lesson students:    

 -read the text to explore the traditional Ukrainian Christmas dishes and their cultural significance and to predict the topic  of

the lesson.

- watch the video to get an idea of ​​how to cook the dish and how to present the recipe.

-review the vocabulary that they’ve learnt previously and will need at the lesson.

 

While the lesson students:

Learn to work in cooperation.

Do the tasks according to the text they’ve read and the video they’ve watched at home.

Share and discuss the information, they’ve got before the lesson.

Write and present a Christmas dish recipe.

Reflect on the lesson.

After the lesson students:

Work in groups creating a new Christmas recipe.

Leave comments on their classmates’ works.
