                               ANIMALS

Objectives:

-  to revise and enrich students knowledge of the vocabulary on the topic “Wild animals”;

-  to develop listening skills;

-  to practice expressing opinions on the topic;

-  to encourage students to speak about animals.

 

Equipment: textbooks, a tape-recorder, cards, computer.

 

At the end of the lesson students will be able to:

-  reinforce vocabulary and grammar related on the topic;

-  describe animals;

-  speak about fovourite animals;

-  work in groups to drill vocabulary and grammar.

 

PROCEDURE

1.                     Introduction

1. Greetings and aim.

T: Good morning, children! I’m glad to see you. How are you?

Ps: I’m fine!

T: What day is it today?

     What month is it now?

     What season is it?

2. Warming up.

1. Poem “I have…”

T: Let’s learn a poem. Listen and repeat.

I have a hare, I have a bear.

I have a horse, I have a fox.

I have a brown cow

And I am playing now.

2. Cards

T: And now complete this poem.

I have a hare, I have a ______.

            I have a horse, I have a ______.

            I have a brown _______.

            And I am playing now.

 

3. Aim.

 

And today at the lesson we’ll speak about animals and parts of animal. You’ll- learn some new words and practice them in writing and oral speech. I’ll hope this lesson will be interesting and you’ll know more about animals.

 

3.                   The main part

1.                   Vocabulary Presentation and Practice.

1.      “New vocabulary.”

T: Look at the blackboard. You can see many animals there. Listen and  repeat  . ( lion, tiger, elephant, hippo, giraffe, crocodile, fox, wolf, rhino, monkey…)

2.     Game “Letters scrambled”

T: Look at these cards and say: What animal is this?
