The Subject. Winter is coming!
The Objectives.
Practical: - to refresh students’ knowledge of the vocabulary on the
topics “ Colours”, “Numbers”, “Animals” , “Christmas and New Year”, “Seasons", "Actions";
- to practise the target language in a role-play;
- to practise listening for specific information.
Developing: - to develop speaking skills, practising the material of the lesson
in the natural way; ;
- to motivate students’ spontaneous speech;
Upbringing: - to form the desire to learn English language.
Outcomes: by the end of the lesson pupils will be able to read and act out the actions

Procedure
I. Introduction
1. Greeting
The pupils and teachers greet each other with a song “Good morning! How are you?”

a) Talking about mood
Pupils ask each other and answer the question How are you?
PRESENTATION of the Subject of the lesson
T: What’s the news?
P: Winter is coming!
T: Winter is a happy, fun season. It is full of joy.
Winter is coming with its holidays, such as New Year and Christmas.

Divide students into three groups.

There are three rounds
Round 1

Students’ task is:
Students get one set of numbers, teacher says a figure, pupils cross it out. The team where pupils make the line first is the winner.
As the conclusion, we put down the date with the help of the calendar for December.

Game “Guess what”
(Speaking)
Flashcards with action-words are on the board
Children show the action-words, the members of the team should guess.
Action-words: dance, clap, run, jump, sing, fly, paint.
The team, whose members guess more words– wins.

Handicraft
After the song, we really are going to make a snowman.
Children get the necessary materials: templates for making a snowman, coloured pencils, wool (to imitate the snow), glue, scissors.
Children listen to the teachers’ instructions and make the handwork.

Round 4
Speaking (Pair work)
Pupils get the picture of the Christmas Tree.
Their task is to colour it according to the appropriate numbers and colours.
And decorate with Advent elements and name them.
T: Dear boys and girls, look. It’s our Christmas tree. It’s very sad because it doesn’t have any toys on. Let’s decorate it and wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
T: In pairs you decide what colour should be and how to decorate, then present your pictures to the class.
