                        Урок-подорож

The Theme: «Past Simple».

Objectives:

• to develop speaking abilities;
• to revise grammar material of the previous lessons;
• to develop pronunciation;
• to develop the interest to learning English;
• to develop pupils attention.

Equipment: 5 planets made of cartoon: Tongue Twister’s Planet,

      Angry Wizard’s Planet, Two Friend’s Planet, Planet of Swamps,

         Planet of Irregular Verbs; cards with the names of the animals;

         cards with the irregular verbs and other grammar tasks;picture.

                                          PROCEDURE

1. Introduction. Greeting

      Teacher: Good morning, pupils! Look! There are 5 planets

in different parts of our classroom. Let’s visit them.

        (Картки з назвами планет розташовані на дошці).

        Now you are a very friendly crew. We are sitting in the best space

ship and are ready to begin our traveling. So what is the date of our trip? And what is the weather like on our planet now? That’s fine! So let’s go!

2. Phonetic Practice

       Teacher: Look! I’ll tell you where we are. It’s a Tongue Twister’s planet. We must read a tongue twister. Here it is.

           (На зворотній стороні учні знаходять скоромовку).

                 You’ve no need to light a night-light

                 On a light night like tonight,

                 For a night-light’s a slight light.

(Перед роботою над скоромовкою діти згадують правило: «якщо букви I,G,T поставити в ряд, ці букви гучно «Ай» нам говорять».)

3. Vocabulary Practice

      Teacher: Now we are at a planet where an angry and cruel wizard lives. All the animals on this planet are stones now. Here they are!

    ( на зворотній стороні іншої планети знаходяться картки з назвами тварин.)

       Let’s help them! We make sentences about them. I’ll begin.

       (на картці написано «A Crocodile».)

       A crocodile was small.

       (Учні звільняють усіх тварин,записуючи речення на дошці.)

4. Grammar Practice

       Teacher: It’s Two Friend’s Planet. The two badgers live there. They forget everything and always ask: «What did we do yesterday?». I have some picture here. Look and say what they did yesterday.

    It’s a Swamp Planet. Let’s use the words WAS and WERE to walk here.

   (на зворотній стороні «планети» - картки:

1. Yesterday I … in the forest.
2. The summer … hot.
3. There … 3 girls in our classroom.
4. We … happy yesterday.
5. Who … there?)

     Teacher: Our last planet’s name is The Planet of Irregular Verbs. We must find the second forms of the following verbs.

             (На зворотній стороні «планети» - картки з дієсловами: meet, see, take, do, have, read, go and tell).

       Teacher: Now we are back! This is the last task for you!

Let’s remember our trip. Open the brackets:

       We___(be) in space. We___(visit) many planets. We___(see) Tongue Twister’s Planet. There we___(read) a tongue twister. Then we___(go) to Angry Wizard’s Planet. We___(help) the animals. Next planet ___(be) Two Friend’s Planet. They ___(forget) everything. Then we___(be) on the Swamp Planet and The Planet of Irregular Verbs. Then we___(come) home!

          The key:

       We were in space. We visited many planets. We saw Tongue Twister’s Planet. There we read a tongue twister. Then we went to Angry Wizard’s Planet. We helped the animals. Next planet was Two Friend’s Planet. They forgot everything. Then we were on the Swamp Planet and The Planet of Irregular Verbs. Then we come home!

     Teacher: Imagine that you have been to a fairy country. What have you seen there? Think it over and make up a story. (Уявіть, що ви побували у казковій країні. Що ви там побачили? Складіть розповідь і запишіть її.)
