Objectives:
- to develop listening skills;
- to control students' skills in oral speech;
- to develop communicative skills in short dialogues;
- to develop students' imagination in communicative activity;
- to bring up interest to English lessons.
Equipment: topical posters, pictures, flashcards, handouts with the tasks, a mirror, a ball
Procedure
I. Introduction. Warming-up
T: Good morning all of you! I'm glad to see you! How are you?
Ss: Good morning, teacher! We're glad to see you, too. We're fine, thank you! And what about you?
T: I am fine, thanks! Now it's time for warming-up. Let's sing "Hello song"!
II. The Main Part of the Lesson
1. Pre-listening task
T: As you know, we are speaking about appearance. Let's play a game. It's called "Name parts of the body". You pass the ball to each other and name one part of the body. If you can't do it, you get out from the game.
2. While - listening task
T: listen to the text twice and be ready to do the tasks after listening.
My Brother
Look at the picture. You can see a boy. This is my brother. He is a sportsman. His legs are long and strong. My brother is tall.
He has a round face with big blue eyes. His nose is small, his hair is brown. He helps me to do my lessons. He always helps my mother about the house.
3. Post - listening task
a) Mark the statements which correspond to the text

Role game "Detective"
Role 1. You are a detective. Ask the questions about appearance of the man you are looking for.
Role 2. Answer the detective's questions:
1) Is the man tall or short?
2) What kind of nose does he have?
3) What colour is his hair?
4) What colour are his eyes?
b) Make up a short story about these strangers.
(The teacher shows the pictures with different people and students make up stories about them.)
e.g. This is a boy. He has... fingers/eyes/ears. His hair is blond. He swims in the river.
c) Look in the mirror and describe yourself.
e.g. I am nice. My hair is black. My eyes are green. My nose and mouth are small. My ears are small, too. I have got a red dress and white socks.
III. Conclusion
