Topic:  Leisure

Subtopic: Body Parts

Objectives:

Teaching aim: to sum up the lexics (body parts) and grammar on the topic (have/ has got); to talk about fairy tales characters;

Practical aim: to practise pupils’ monologue sayings, to listen for specific information, read for making a description, to practise grammar;

Developing aim: to develop students’ analytical thinking, phonetic skills, logical saying, to work in groups;

Educative aim: to bring up culture of communication; to educate pupils` positive attitude towards each other and sense of beauty

Equipment: SB, CD, a tape-recorder, copy-books, pictures, flash cards (speech patterns), grammar basic tables, handouts.

The Procedure

I. Greeting.

– Good morning, children!

– I am glad to see you.

II. The aims of the lesson.

Let’s start. Today is the…. I see,..is absent. How are you today?

– We are fine.

– Great. I am glad to hear it.

The theme of our lesson…No, I don’t want to tell you our topic. Try to guess. Look at the board. There are some pictures on it. What do you think about our theme? Your opinions, please.

– The parts of the body.

Yes, of course. Let’s revise all the parts of the body. Today we will play different games and learn a new poem by heart.

I think you know all the words on the topic. Very good. Thank you. I am sure you are ready to listen to the story about one person. Your task is to draw his/her portrait. Is it clear? Listen.

His name is (Buratino). He has got a big head. His neck is short. His two eyes are large. His nose is very long. His hear is short. He has got two ears. His body is long. He has got two arms and one leg. His hands are small.

The story is over. Are you ready?

Let’s check up your drawings and compare with his real portrait. Oh, what is it?

Look at Vlad’s drawing. It’s very strange. He has got only one leg. And what about you, Denys? What do you think: is Vlad right or wrong? – I think, he is right.
