None of these things say “thank you”. In fact, they show no gratitude whatsoever. You may not have actually tried the first nine, but you are probably guilty of number one.
Today’s passage tells us about ten lepers. These men had experienced the horror of watching their sickness. They new the depth of despair as the doctors told them that there was no hope. They felt the shame of living outside of the city in small groups. Jesus saw their pain, knew their grief, and sensed their despair. At the request, He healed them. Yet only one of the ten came to thank Jesus.
Why those two simple words so difficult to say? Why are they so easy to forget? When is the last time you thanked your working parents for providing a house and food for you to enjoy?
Can you remember the last time you told one of your teachers thanks for giving you education?
