Підтема уроку: Музичні інструменти

Тип уроку: комбінований

Мета: продовжувати знайомство з темою «Музика», музичними інструментами, музичними стилями та напрямками, удосконалювати навички роботи з текстом, ввести нові ЛО, вчити їх правильно артикулювати, формувати лексичні навички, навички читання, усного мовлення і аудіювання;

розвивати мовну здогадку, логічне мислення, оперативну пам’ять, здатність порівнювати, класифікувати, узагальнювати; виховувати зацікавленість у розширенні своїх знань, формувати терпиме відношення і повагу до думки і стилю життя інших людей, виховувати позитивно-налаштовану особистість, естетичні смаки.

Очікувані результати: на кінець уроку учні володітимуть інформацією про музичні інструменти, зможуть їх розрізняти, дискутуватимуть щодо різних музичних стилів; складатимуть діалоги, вживаючи нові лексичні одиниці; закріплять знання з вживання пасивного стану дієслів у реченні.

Обладнання: підручники, мультимедійне забезпечення, комп’ютер, картки  із зображенням муз. інструментів, аудіо записи музики різних стилів.

Інтегровані змістовні лінії: сталий розвиток, «Здоров`я та безпека» (наводить приклади впливу музики на здоров’я та настрій людини).

Хід уроку

І. Організаційний момент. Введення в іншомовну атмосферу

1. Greeting - Good morning dear friends! Nice to see you today! We are going to have very interesting lesson on the topic "Music”.

2. Warming up. T: Dear students! On the previous lesson we were talking about musical styles, so I want you to look at your desks. There you can find 10 cards with different music styles. We will listen to all of them and your task will be to put them in the right order.

(students listen to all music compositions)

1. Pop music;    

2. Classical music;

3. Rock music;

4. Jazz:

5. Reggae;

6. rock-n-roll;

7. Country music;

8. Folk music;

9. Techno music;

10. Latin music.

T: Ok, I hope you`ve coped with the task. Let`s check. And now I ask you to turn the cards one by one and read what do you have on the other side of the cards.

S: Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.

T: Tell me please, do you agree with this quotation?

S: Yes, I like music very much.

S2: I listen to music every day.

S3: It gives me the power to start my day.

3. Aim: Thanks for your answers. And Now I want you to ask. Did you notice what musical instruments authors used in these songs?

S: (students give answers)

T: My nest questions what are we going to speak about today?

S: (students give their answers) Today we are going to speak about musical instruments.

 T: Yes, you are right. Toady we’ll speak about music, feelings, music instruments,  revise the vocabulary and learn some new words, read and act the dialogue, practice making short dialogues, train some grammar and work with some texts.

T: Thank you for your answers.  Now, please, open your copybooks and write down today`s date.

ІІ. Основна частина уроку.

1. Checking homework. T: Tell me please, what was the homework for today?

S: Ex.9, p.95 (put the words in brackets into the right tense form and voice) and for some pupils write about one of the musical styles. Who prepared the information?

2. Listening.  Listen to a dialogue. You will listen it twice and then look at your cards and try to put the lines in the right order.

A: What is your favorite kind of music?

B: I listen to various types of music.

A: What genres?

B: I enjoy listening to both Rock and R&B.

A: What interests you in that type of music?

B: I enjoy the different types of instruments that they use.

A: That is a perfect reason to like a certain kind of music.

B: That's exactly what I think too.

T: You have listen the dialogue and now who wants to read the right variant? Other students should check your cards.

As you `ve hear in this dialogue speakers talk about musical instruments.

 

3. Vocabulary practice. T: I want you to open your books on page 97. Read the task of ex.3. You should listen and repeat the names of the musical instruments. (students all together repeat the words after a teacher)

T: So, I hope you remembered some musical instruments. Now I want you to do some task. I will show you a picture of musical instrument and you will name it. Let`s start.

T: If you have noticed all these instruments are different. And all of them we can divide into 4 groups:

Stringed Instruments. These are instruments that have strings.

Wind Instruments. These are instruments that we blow.

Percussion Instruments. These are instruments that we hit.

Keyboard Instruments. These are instruments that have `keys`.

4. Writing. T: Now, look at the ex.3 on page 97 and divide all these musical instruments into 4 groups. You have 3 minutes to do it.

T: Let`s check your answers

5. Reading. T: We have already met with some instruments and now let`s read about one musical instrument and do some task after reading.

Guitar

The guitar is a musical instrument with ancient roots that is used in a wide variety of musical styles. It typically has six strings, but four, seven, eight, ten and twelve-stringed guitars also exist. Guitars are recognized as one of the first instruments in blues, country, rock music and many forms of pop. They can also be a solo classical instrument. Traditionally guitars are constructed of combinations of various woods and strung with either nylon or steel strings. Guitars are made and repaired by luthiers /lusias/- майстри, що ремонтують музичні інструменти.

T: Put the words into the correct order to make up questions. Use the text to answer them.

6. Grammar/Writing. T: Look through the text again. I want you to find in this text sentences with the passive voice.

S: (students give their answers)

T: Thank you, So let`s remember the rule how to make sentences in Passive voice. We form the Passive voice by using the verb to be followed be the past participle. We use passive when we don’t know who or what did something or when the action is more important than who did it.

T: And now let`s do a grammar exercise. Your task to rewrite the sentences into Passive Voice.

1. I bought two tickets to the concert yesterday.

2. They sell musical instruments in this shop.

3. A robber stole this famous violin two years ago.

4. We can hear the music everywhere.

5. The students greeted the famous singer warmly.

6.  My friend will take me to the concert of Scorpions in 2 days.

7. Music always inspire us.

8. A famous composer wrote this opera 100 years ago.

7. Speaking. T: Thank you for your work and now look at the table and try to describe the musical instruments, using the prompts.

ІІІ. Заключна частина

1. Homework. Do ex.8, p.99 (write different types of questions to the sentences given below); learn a dialogue by heart; make up a little presentation about one of the musical instruments*

2. Summarizing. Our lesson almost came to the end. Let`s remember our quotation about music. As we know music is everywhere and it help us to feel happy or sad. I want to know what type of music do you listen to when you feel happy, sad, busy and so on. Use the prompts to make up your own ideas:

  • When I feel happy I listen to ...
  • When I want to relax I listen to …
  • When I feel sad I listen to …
  • When I am busy with my homework I listen to …
