Try to give a short answer to the journalist. You can use the props on the screen or words from your home exercise if you like or use your own ideas. I think you will agree that a film’s cast plays a huge role in the film success. But who can be called an all-time actor or actress? Who is recognized anywhere, or almost anywhere, in every corner of the world? I googled this question and here are some photos of the most famous actors. Can you tell me their names and the films or facts that made them truly popular? And you will see the per cent of people who have heard their names in different countries on all the continents.

Checking the results. (Slide # 10)
Film Review: Pirates of the Caribbean
One of my favourite films is Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. It is an adventure fantasy directed by Gore Verbinski! The leading actor is Johnny Depp. He plays the part of Captain Jack Sparrow, and I think he is perfect in this role. At that time "pirate movies" were considered box-office poison but the film director and star Johnny Depp managed to achieve success. |
The film tells about a clever pirate who tries to return his lost ship from his cursed former crew. He is very eccentric, unpredictable and sometimes really amusing. |
There are some humorous and funny episodes in the film. I could not help laughing when I heard Jack’s jokes. To cut a long story short, Jack has a lot of adventures and in the end breaks an ancient curse. |
In my opinion, the plot of this film is outstanding. The background music is perfect. However, the best thing about the film is the fantastic special effects and the brilliant character acting. |
On the whole, the film is very positive. It is worth seeing. I think it will be interesting to both teens and adults. If you like adventures, I advise you to see it. You’ll admire it. |
Writing. (The teacher and the students analyze the text and write down a plan for composing a similar film review)
Film Review Plan.

Homework:
Make up a review of your favourite film or a story about your favourite actor or actress in any form you like. It may be a presentation, a poster, a project or a quiz to the class. It may be an individual work or a pair work if you have the same preferences. Try to make your task interesting to other students.
Summarizing. Slide #11.

What was the most interesting part of the lesson for you? The most difficult? The most unusual? Have you already got any ideas about your homework?
