Theme: Sport.

Subject: Sport in Our Life. Sports and Games. Lesson-game.

Objectives:

  • practical: to teach the learner's to conduct dialogues and to produce connected utterances on the basis of the reading the text.
  • cultural: to contribute to the development of the learner's intellect, voluntary memory, and imagination.
  • education: to contribute to the development of the learner's world outlook on the basis of the topic.
  • to train pupils in different types of questions.
  • to repeat Modal Verbs.
  • to raise awareness of the importance of sports as a component of a healthy lifestyle.

Materials: the recording of the text and of the song 'I’m in a mood for singing’ (toys, bells, a ball, pictures of Sport, presentation, handouts, cue-cards).

Motto:                    One for all and all for one.

Slogan:                   Stronger. Higher. Faster.

Lesson Procedure

I. Introduction.

1. Greeting. Announcing the topic and the aims of the lesson.

Good morning, dear children! Nice to see you! Good morning, dear guests! Welcome to our lesson. Today we will talk about Sport in our life. The aim of our lesson is to learn to conduct dialogues and to produce connected utterances.

2. Warming up. Are you ready for the lesson, children? How are you? Hope you are well. Who is absent today? Nobody, it's well. Are you afraid of the guests? Don't worry, be happy! What is your mood?

3)Favourite stop. Singing 'I'm in a mood for singing’.

Our body needs training, but our tongue needs it too. Let's get ready to speak English and show our favourite phonetic drill.

4)Sound stop

We are friends,

We are friends.

We can play many games

We are friends

We are friends

We have got pretty names.

Fly a kite, say 'Hooray!’

Let us swim, let us play.


 

5) Asking Stop. Make a circle- Play station. Playing with a ball.

  1. What day is it today?
  2. Do you like the weather like today?
  3. If the weather is rainy, can you play football?
  4. What kinds of Sport are you going for?
  5. Is Sport important in our life?
  6. And what about games?
  7. What games do you know?

Now look at the blackboard. Here are some proverbs. Read them after me and complete them.

II. Main part

  1. Give me a good idea about a good rest. Every group has the task to make the sentences.

Good health is better… (then good medicine)

A sound mind in… (a sound body)

Health is better… (than wealth)

Never say die. Never… (say never)

Translate them.

2)Writing stop. Make the sentences using the puzzles.

3)PT exercise.

4) Brain Storm.

Guess what equipment is necessary for these kinds of sport.

1. For scuba diving you need

3. For table tennis you need

Each group will be given a topic. Look at the board the topics are Sports and  Games. Make up a dialogue concurring your topic.
