Мета: навчальна - повторити правила читання, навчати працювати з текстом для отримання загальної інформації; розвиваюча - вдосконалювати навички читання, розвивати мислення, увагу; виховна – виховувати ввічливість, гарні манери поведінки за столом.

Тип уроку: урок розвитку навичок читання

Обладнання: підручник, мультимедійний проектор

1.Організаційний момент.

Good morning, dear children! It’s nice to see you at our lesson. Sit down, please.

2. Бесіда з учнями.                                 

How are you today?                              

Are you in a good mood today? Why?

What can help you to cheer up?

Is good word better than the candy?

Is it important to you to communicate with polite people?

3. Фонетична зарядка. 

We say “Thank you”, we say “Please”,

And “Excuse me” when we sneeze.

That’s the way we do what’s right,

We have manners, we are polite!

4.Повідомлення теми і мети уроку.

Teacher: If you look at our phonetic drill you’ll be able to guess the topic of the lesson. We’ll work with the text and speak about table manners.

5.Виконання завдань на розвиток навичок читання.

1. Бесіда з учнями про правила поведінки за столом. Робота в групах. Мозковий штурм.

Teacher: Let’s review the good manners you know. You will divide into groups of four and discus this question inside your group. Then we’ll read in chain all your propositions and make the general list of necessary table manners. You will have to write down the most important manners on the blackboard.

2. Читання тексту “Forks and Fingers“. На слайді записані основні правила читання, коли учні припускаються помилок учитель коректує їх і звертає увагу учнів на певне правило.

Teacher: Open your books and we’ll read in chain the text “Forks and Fingers“.

In 1608 an Englishman whose name was Thomas Coryate visited Italy. He liked the country and noted down every interesting tiling he found. But there was one thing which he found more interesting than the others. In his diary Thomas wrote, "When the Italians eat meat, they use small forks. They do not eat with hands because, as they say, people do not always have clean hands."

Before leaving for England, Thomas Coryate bought a few forks. At home Thomas gave a dinner party to show the invention to his friends. When the servants brought the steak, he took out a fork and began to eat like they did in Italy.

Everybody looked at him in surprise. When he told his friends what it was, they all wanted to take a good look at the strange thing. All his friends said that the Italians were very strange people because the fork was very inconvenient.

Thomas Coryate tried to prove the opposite. He said it was not nice to eat meat with one's fingers because they were not always clean. Everybody got angry at that. Did Mr Coiyate think that people in England always had dirty hands? And weren't the ten fingers we had enough for us? Thomas Coiyate wanted to show that it was very easy to use the fork. But the first piece of meat he took with the fork fell to the floor. His friends began to laugh and he had to take the fork away. Only fifty years later did people in England begin to use forks.

3. На слайді запитання за змістом тексту, учні читають запитання і дають відповіді англійською.

4. Учитель читає речення українською, учні знаходять переклад і читають англійською.

Teacher: Now look in the text and find the English equivalents. Read them, please.

1. Томас Коріат, англійський мандрівник, поїхав до Італії.
2. Люди в Італії їли м'ясо виделками.
3. Він показав їх своїм друзям.
4. Дуже добре їсти виделками, а не руками.
5. Його друзі дуже сміялися.
6. Потім Томас розсердився.
7. Томас поклав виделку в кишеню, а сам почав їсти руками.

Фонетична зарядка. Пісня “This is the way we wash our face…”

5. Лексична гра на знання лексики. Учитель загадує іменник, який вживається у тексті, учні відгадують це слово. Той, хто відгадав, одержує приз.

6. Поставити речення, які представлені на слайді, у правильному порядку.

Teacher: Your next task will be to put the given sentences in the right order.

• Because people not always have clean hands.
• He took some meat with a fork but the meat fell down.
• But it was different many years ago.
• His English friends laughed very much.
• Then Thomas got angry.
• There for the first time in his life he saw forks.
• He showed them to his friends.
• His friends laughed and laughed and joked about it.

7. Вправа “Мікрофон“. Швидко відповісти, чи сподобалася ця історія, чи ні, і чим саме.

Teacher: The next task will be to tell us your attitude to this story. Don’t ponder over it for a long time! Answer the question quickly!  The question is ”Do you like this story and why?”
