•                 To develop students’ communicative skills;
•                 To develop students’ skills in group work;
•                 To practice students’ listening, writing and reading skills;
•                 To promote their curiosity.

Equipment: a computer, multimedia – projector, interactive board, an English book, handouts.

Procedure

1. Greetings

•                 Hi! How are you?
•                 Fine! How are you?
•                 I am fine. Thank you.
•                 Take your seats, please.

3. Main part

1. So, students, look at the screen and answer my questions: (slide №4)

•                 What do people usually do when they come to a town for the first time?
•                 Do they want to see as much as possible?
•                 When do guests from different countries go when they visit London?
•                 Have you ever been to London?
•                 How long will it take you to go sightseeing in London?

2. Read some information about the sights of London and guess what sight it is: (slide №5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)

3. And how let’s work in groups: (slide №15, 16, 17)

To make up stories about the places of interest in London using the key words, expressions and sentences.

4. And now let’s have a rest. (slide №18, video file №1)

5. Listen to the story “An American in London” and answer the questions: (slide №19)

•                 Who went to London?
•                 What did he see?
•                 What did he ask?
•                 What did the guide say?
•                 What did the guide answer?

6. Look at the video and you will see the sights of London. (slide №20, video file №2)
