Procedure
1. Feelings check-in :
There is a feeling scale on the wall. Students using their personal clothes-pins choose the emotion which best describe their feelings and make some comments.
1.Prediction of learning outcomes.
Books closed. Each student gets a badge with a social media icon on it, teacher shows students a photo and encourage them to guess the topic of the lesson. (Ask: What is there on your badge? Why? Can you guess the topic of our lesson today?)
After students guess the theme, they try to predict learning outcomes, which appear on the power point presentation.
2. Lead -in
Teacher asks students to think of reasons of using the internet.
(Teacher uses Jamboard to create a mind map with the reasons and write her/his example on the Jamboard: entertainment; students add their ideas on the Jamboard: shopping, information, communication).
When Ss finish, teacher asks them to match the websites on the Jamboard with the reasons that have been discussed for using the internet.
Class vote: Which of these websites do you use the most?
Pre-watching the video
1).Work in pairs (Students discuss in pairs the following questions. As they are interacting with each other, teacher walks around and monitor)
1.What social networks do you use? Why?
2.Can using social networks be dangerous?
3. What are the possible dangers?
While-watching video
1).Teacher asks students to watch the video and tick the online dangers have been mentioned .They do individually. Then they check answers in pairs before doing a class check.

After watching video
1. Make a choice activity.
Students watch the video again and pay attention to the safety rules, how to avoid the Internet dangers. There are two circles on the floor (one of them has a word should inside the other one-shouldn’t) in the centre of the classroom. Teacher reads the statement each student has to decide if he /she should or shouldn’t do that activity in the Internet and stand in an appropriate circle .
Teacher can ask someone to explain the choice.
1.You shouldn’t open emails from strangers.
2. You should share your password with your best friend.
3.You should create a short password.
4. You should check the information if it’s real or fake.
5. You should share your private information with strangers in social networks.
6. You shouldn’t always limit your screen time.
7.You shouldn’t share credit card information in the Internet.
IV. Energizer
T :It’s time to have short break. Please, stand up. I’m reading the sentences if it’s true about you do the activity I ask you to do.
If you’re addicted to smartphone jump 2 times;
if you prefer talking to people face to face -hug yourself;
if you charge your smartphone battery once a day spin around twice;
if your favourite website is Instagram –run in a place;
If you use Wikipedia for school projects make a silly noise;
If you upload your own videos on Tik Tok pretend to be a bee and fly.
V. Production
1.Group work:
Ss make 3 groups according the media icons they’ve got (Tik Tok group, Instagram group, Snap Chat group or oters).
Students gets posters, video screenshots which illustrate the SAFETY rules, felt pens ,tips for writing projects.
They have to create school posters with safety rules.
Students present their posters.
Tips for writing projects
1. Choose a clear title and make it very big.
2. Use an exclamation mark (!) for strong effect
3. Use the verb without “to” for instructions or friendly advice
4. Use don’t +verb to tell people not to do something
5. Use always or never to give strong advice
VI. Wrap-up
Students fill in exit tickets; some volunteers can read their answers.
VII.Homework
Students have to be ready to talk about online safety rules.
