Procedure of the Lesson
I.INTRODUCTION
1.Greeting
2.Warming up.
T: Hello, pupils! I’m glad to see you. How are you today? Take your “faces” and if you feel great – draw a smile; if you feel neither great nor bad, draw a face without a smile; and if you are sad and unhappy, draw a sad face.
Now show me your faces, please. Well, I see that everybody is happy so we can start our lesson.
II. MAIN PART.
T: Children, look around, what do you see on the board, on your desks?
Ss: Animals.
T: Right. You can see animals and we will speak about them today.
What animals can you see on the board? Try to guess. Is it a lion or a horse?
Ss: It’s a lion.
T: Is it a zebra or a tiger?
Ss: It’s a tiger. (etc)
2. Writing and speaking.
T: Animals live everywhere. Let’s make a mind map. Write the name of the animals according to their places of living. Let four pupils go to the board and do this task.

T: Very good. And now make the sentences using the table.
(Students are making the sentences).
1. There are crocodiles in the river.

3. Listening
T: Well done. Now meet our guest. It is Neznaika. He says that he knows everything about animals and birds and he can easily tell us what they can do and what they can’t. But I am not sure whether it is really so. Let’s listen to him very attentively and if you hear a mistake – clap your hands and correct the sentence.
S1: The elephant can’t hop, it can walk.
S2: The zebra can’t fly, it can run.
S3: The bird can’t run, it can fly or hop.
S4: The monkey can’t talk, it can jump from tree to tree.
S5: The cow can’t sing, it can walk and run.
4. Listening and writing
T: We’ve got a letter from the British girl Lisa. She wrote about her favourite animal. Let’s read it. Oh, some of the words have disappeared. But I know what to do. Listen to me and try to restore the text.
