Тема: Характер та зовнішність людини

Підтема: Дружба. Твій найліпший друг. Навчання складанню повідомлень до теми.

Мета: повторити й  закріпити лексику теми; навчати учнів вживати

            конструкції as … as на позначення ступенів порівняння прикметників; 

                 продовжувати формувати  навички монологічного мовлення;

                 удосконалювати техніку читання; продовжувати розвивати  вміння

           сприймати тексти на слух; практикувати учнів у написанні листа за

          визначеною темою; виховувати  культуру спілкування.

Обладнання: відеозапис, аудізапис, роздавальний матеріал, презентація Power Point.

  

PROCEDURE

І. INTRODUCTION

Greeting

T: - Good morning pupils, nice to meet you.

Ps: - Good morning, nice to meet you too.

 

Aim T: Look at the pictures, read the poem and try to predict the topic of our today's lesson.

Mr. Hall is very tall. Who is tall? Mr. Hall.

Mr. Cort is very short. Who is sport? Mr. Cort.

Mr. Pick is very thick. Who is thick? Mr. Pick.

Mr. Lynn is very thin. Who is thin? Mr. Lynn.

T.: So, today we’re going to speak about...

P: Appearance and character.

T.: What makes you think so?

P.: The poem is about appearance and the pictures show emotions.

 

II. MAIN PART
    1. Vocabulary building

1) T: Divide the given words into the following groups:

Hair: black, dark, red, chestnut, brown, fair, golden, grey, white, waved, wavy, curly, straight.

Face: oval, square, round, long, thin, plump.

Eyes: dark, black, hazel, brown, blue, grey, green, deep-set, wide-set.

Nose: straight, flat, hooked, turned-up, aquiline.

 

2) T: Listen to the questions, and if so have you, raise your hand and answer: (Дiти говорять, хто в класi має такi риси)

Who of you has got long hair?

Who of you has got dark hair?

Who of you has got fair hair?

Who of you has got blue (brown, green, grey) eyes?

Who of you has got wavy (curly) hair?

3) Speaking Practice

T: Each of you has got a sheet of paper. Write down a sentence describing her/his appearance or personality.

2) While-Watching Activity.

T: Watch the video and write down all new features of character you’ll hear.

3) Post-Watching Activity.

T: Match these characteristics with their definitions:

homebody       b) someone who thinks that he/she is way better than others

arrogant          c) someone who often bumps into things, drops things and

                          gets hurt

3. Speaking

1) Метод:Пояснення вживання конструкції as … as.

Структура “as … as” вживається при порівнянні двох предметів. Перекладається як “такий … як”

2) Grammar Practice

T: Make up a simile:

5. Writing

Метод: вправ. Учні у зошитах пишуть про свого друга.

T: You remember that we should to write a letter about your summer holidays. Let’s do it! But at first we read some rules how to write a letter.

Helpful Tips

1. Put the date in the top right-hand corner.

2. Always start “Dear Sir or Madam” or write the person’s name.

3. End the letter with “Best wishes” and write your name.

ІІІ. Summarizing

1. Home Task: write about one of your family member

T: - Open your day books and write down the home task.

 

2. Conclusions:

a) Метод:бесіда. На кожне питання вчителя відповідає декілька учнів.

T: - What did we do today? What did you like most of all?

b) Діти беруться за руки та говорять прислів’ям про дружбу.
