Theme Going to the Theatre
Objectives : -to develop students' communicative and writing skills, train them
in reading and listening comprehension;
- to develop students' thinking, creative imagination;
- to develop students' interest in theatre and artist taste.
Equipment: pictures on the topic " theatre", a textbook "We learn English 7",
slide-presentation, а film
Procedure :
I. Greeting:
T: Good morning my dear children! I'm very glad to see all of you today.
(a song “Hello, How Are You”)
How are you?
Today we are going to travel in the world of theatre. We’ll learn some new words, listen and read the texts, speak and write. Hope, you’ll remember the new information and enjoy today’s lesson.
II Warming up
As you can see you are organized into three groups and on today’s lesson you’ll work as a team. Be very attentive and let’s start. We are going to start our lesson with an episode of the film.

What is the title of the film?
What is the genre of the film?
What is this film about?
Did you like this film and why?
Who is the main character of the film?
What does the film teach us?
III The main body
Well done. Thank you for your answers and I invite you to the theatre.
What is the theatre?
Right you are. Theatre is a place where you can see a play staged.
(The curtain on the blackboard opens and you can see the pictures and the words. The teacher shows and says)
This is a stage.
This is a curtain and so on.
So we can see, that a theatre consists of two parts: the stage and the hall. They are separated by a curtain and the orchestra. Actors and actresses perform on the stage and the audience are in the hall.
Now look at the blackboard and lets revise the words once more
(the teacher shows the pictures and the students give answers)
And now your first group task translate the words

This is a theatre. I can see a stage and scenery. I can see an actor on the stage too. There are five rows in the theatre.
Show us your pictures . Well done.
Now lets imagine ourselves in England. This country is famous not only for places of interest but also for famous people. Do you know who is this man?
Right you are. This is a famous English writer William Shakespeare.
What do you know about him? Let’s read some information about him.
To remember the facts from Shakespeare’s life better we’ll do exercise 2 on page
149. You should complete the sentences with the words from the box. The first group will work with 3 sentences, the second group with the fourth and the fifth and the third group will work with the rest of the sentences.
It’s brilliant.
We’ve read the information about the Globe and you’ve already known that it’s a theatre . I’d like you to listen to the dialogue than read and translate it and answer the questions.

And now imagine yourselves in the Globe theatre. You’ll see a play there. Be very attentive because you’ll answer the question

IV Summary
Unfortunatuly, our lesson will finish soon so lets revise the words reading riddles to each other.
Group 1 please read your riddles to group 2, ect.
