’’Seasons and Weather’’

 

 

Objectives:

  • to develop communicative skills in the situation ’’Talking about  the  weather’’,
  •  to train  in listening  comprehension;
  •  to  teach  pupils  to  work  in  groups and pairs (interactive  forms),
  •  to motivate  them in  expressing  their   own   opinions;
  • to  develop memory,
  •  to  educate  politeness  and    love to  English,
  •   to develop  positive  relationship  between  pupils.

 

Equipment:  a computer (presentation), flashcards   for group work, the poster ’’Seasons and Weather’’, text-books.

2. The organization of the lesson

You have to check what you have on your desks:

  •  A book
  •  A copy-book
  • A day-book
  •  A pencil-case with your pens and pencils
  •  And the vocabulary.

3. DEFINING THE AIMS OF THE lesson

Today we are going to talk about the seasons and weather.And we’ll make a calendar ’’Season’’. We are going to prepare for speaking English. Look at the blackboard.

4. Phonetic warm- up

5. Lexical warm up

Rain

Rain, rain,  go away,

Come again another day,

Little Tommy wants to play.

4. Active vocabulary presentation and practice

A year is divided into seasons and months. There are four seasons. The seasons are spring, summer, autumn and winter. Today they’ll tell us about themselves.

4.1 Look at the blackboard:

Summer [’sΛmə] літо

Autumn [’:təm] осінь

Winter [’wintə] зима

Spring [spriŋ] весна

4.2 Read and say what season  it is. (Riddles)

1. It's hot. There are a lot of flowers. (S_________)

2. It’s a  beautiful  season. The  trees are  red, yellow,  green  and  brown. It isn’t cold.  It often rains. (A________)

        3.    It's very cold. It's snowy and frosty. The trees and the
ground are white. (W_______ )

4. It's a beautiful season. The grass and the trees are green.
It's warm. It often rains. (S________________)

5. Group work

Whats your favourite season? (Учні підходять до столу і беруть той символ пори року, яка є  для них улюбленою і сідають у відповідну групу)

  • Make up the sentences
  • Учні складають усно речення,
  • Читають ці речення,
  • З даних речень складають текст, який записують на листку біля малюнка (пори року),
  • Своїми  роботами доповнюємо  наш календар. (пір року)

Summer
