The topic of today’s lesson is ‘What was your day like today?’ We’re going to act the story from your books- it was your homework. So, we’re going to sing and talk using the grammar of the topic ‘Past Simple for revising and special questions as a new grammar point’. You’re going to interview your classmates about their day at school and tell short stories about what their day was like.

3 Phonetic Drills ~4 min

1.      The excerpt from “Six serving men” poem

I keep six honest serving-men

(They taught me all I knew);

Their names are What and Why and When

And How and Where and Who.

2. “I can spy” group work

      I can spy with my little eye some verbs with “t” sound in the end

      I can spy with my little eye some verbs with “d” sound in the end

      I can spy with my little eye some verbs with “id” sound in the end

A list of the mixed verbs is on the board.

Wanted, started, finished, loved, hated, laughed, used, lived, played, painted, watched, cooked, listened to, opened, danced.

Pupils try to find three groups of verbs with respective sounds in the end.
