Sport in our Life (7 Form)
Objectives:
- to form communicative competence;
- to improve writing, reading, speaking and listening skills;
- to practise using vocabulary in monological speech;
- to develop students' attention, memory, quick reaction and language guessing;
- to practise work in groups;
- to bring up love to physical education and sports;
- to teach students to keep up their fit.
Equipment: a laptop, a projector, a screen, students' presentations, a thematical video, handouts.

Procedure
I. Introduction
T: Hello, everyone! I'm glad to see you. As you know, today we have an unusual lesson, because it is devoted to a very important problem. I suggest you talking about a healthy way of life. We know some people are healthy, some people are unhealthy. I'm sure, you agree with me that health is the most precious thing in our life. We can't buy health, but we can do a lot to keep it.
Today we're going to read, speak and discuss, improve our knowledge of the topic of sport and healthy lifestyle. Also we'll speak about the role of sport in our life.
Look at the screen, please! The epigraph of our lesson is a famous saying "A sound mind in a sound body".
II. Warming-up
Phonetic drills
T: Let's read a poem "Sport is fun".
Sport is fun for boys and girls.
It's much better than the toys.
You can sledge and ski and skate
And play snowballs with Kate.
You can swim and play football,
Hockey, tennis, volleyball.
You can jump and you can run,
You can have a lot of fun.
III. The Main Part of the Lesson

Lexical Game "Magic Box"

V. Home Assignment/ differential approach
T: If you want a higher mark (9-12), your task is to write an informal letter in at least 100 words. Write a letter to your pen-friend in which you write:
- why doing sport is important;
- about your PE lessons at school;
- advice him/her how to keep fit better.
T: For those who find it difficult to write a letter to an English-speaking friend, I suggest you preparing some information on the topic "The role sport in my life".
