Мета: ознайомитись з популярними видами спорту в Україні та інших країнах, дізнатись про відомих спортсменів світу, використовуючи ЛО з теми граматично правильно будувати речення, розвивати навички усного мовлення, читання, аудіювання, виховувати інтерес до спорту.

Обладнання: зошити, підручники, словники,картки, наочність.

 Тип уроку: комбінований.

Procedure.

The motivational part of the lesson.Good morning, dear  children!  How are you? I hope you are well. Today at the lesson we are going to speak about sport,  different   sport activities, you will learn about famous sportsmen of the world, listen and read some stories  and do some exercises.  

Warming  up:T. When you hear the word “SPORT”, what do you associate with it?

(The pupils  make up a mind map with the word “SPORT” )

Quiz: What kind of sports is it ?

1. It is for two teams of six players. You need a ball and a high net. You play a ball with your hands. ( Volleyball)

1. . There are  two teams of eleven players. The players kick a ball with their feet. (football)
2. . Sportsmen do some exercises and dance on the ice. They have very nice costumes. (Figure skating).

Pupils write what kind of sports or a game is described by the teacher.

The Final Cup. This is the World Football Championship, which is held every  four years. The winners get the Final Cup.

The Derby.  Derby is a city, a home to several sports clubs. Championships, which are held in this city are very popular.

The Boat Race. This is the Boat Race competition in England between the Oxford University Boat Club and the Cambridge University Boat Club.

Cricket. It is the national English game played with a beat and a ball.

Wimbledon tennis championship. This is one of the most popular tennis championships in the world.

Rugby football is a popular game. Players pick up an oval  ball and run with it.

Hunting.  Competitors  try to catch  animas with the help of the dogs.

Shooting. Competitors shoot with different kinds of gun.

 Fishing. Competitors try to catch the biggest fish.

Reading .Sport in Britain

Sport plays a very important part in people's lives in Britain. About 29 million people over the age of 16 regularly take part in sport or exer­cise. For many people sport is the main form of entertainment.

The British are one of the best in the world in different sports. Such sports events as the Final Cup, the Derby, the Boat Race, Wimbledon tennis championship  are watched on television by millions of people.

The game associated with England is cricket. It is much more than just a sport; it is symbolized a way of life. It is the national English game.

Rugby football has come in Britain since the beginning of the 19th century, when a teacher at Rugby school, while playing football, decid­ed it would be better to pick up the ball and run with it.

Traditionally, the favourite sports of the upper class are hunting, shooting and fishing. The most widespread form of hunting is fox-hunting.             

Horse racing is a very popular sport in Britain. This sport became  known as "the sport of kings" in the 17th century.

Almost every sport is played in Britain. Hockey and basketball are becoming very popular.

• I am Peter. I love all  kind of sports — football, hockey, volleyball and basketball. I also play chess and I love to play football. I go to our football club and I want to become a football player. I also watch foot­ball on TV a lot.
• I am Ann. I am not crazy about sports, but I think it is very im­portant to keep in good form and stay healthy. When I have the time, I also go to  classes of aerobics.
• My name is Alex. I don't like sport. In the modern world people do not need muscles, diffi­cult things can be done by machines. I'm happy sitting on my sofa with a book or in front of the computer.
