на тему «The Earth is Dearer than Gold»

 

Вид уроку: урок закріплення набутих знань

 

Мета уроку:

  • Повторити та закріпити знання учнів з теми «Захист навколишнього  середовища»;
  • Закріпити знання граматичного матеріалу (Passive Voice);
  • Розвивати навички аудіювання;
  • Розвивати та удосконалювати комунікативні навички учнів;
  • Виховувати в учнів любов та дбайливе ставлення до довкілля.

 

Обладнання:  програма Microsoft Power Point, мультимедійна дошка, роздатковий       матеріал.

 

Джерела інформації: сайти в Internet, присвячені темі «Захист навколишнього  середовища»;  підручники з англійської мови.

І. Організаційний момент

Good morning, boys and girls! Good morning, dear guests! I am glad to see you. How are you today?

This time we are going to summarize all our knowledge in the topic. And so the topic of today’s lesson is “The Earth is Dearer than Gold” (Слайд 1)

Look at the quotation on the screen (Слайд 3). What do you think about it? Do you agree or disagree? Why?

 

 

 

II. Основна частина

1. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу (Warm-up)

Картинки по запросу наушникиSo now let’s warm up a bit. You are going to listen to a famous song sung by an outstanding singer Michael Jackson (Слайд 3). Be attentive while watching the video and note all the environmental problems he mentions. Use your answer sheets, please (Слайд 4). 

Post-listening Activity:

  • So, what are the main problems our Earth is facing nowadays? (Слайди 5-6)
  • Do you think there is a solution according to M. Jackson?

I. Now it’s time to brush up your vocabulary. Look at the screen and into your answer sheets. The task is to match the words on the left with their definitions on the right. (Слайд 7)

Do the task on your copies. You have 5minutes. But before doing this I suggest you looking at the smart board. Here is the list of words you will need for understanding the texts. These words are also on your desks.

        Now it’s time to revise grammar (Слайд 12-14). Look at screen. Which famous city can you see? (Venice). What problems is it facing?

      Read the passage below and open the brackets using Passive Voice forms. You have 5 minutes. The task is in your answer sheets. 

    

4. Розвиток комунікативних навичок

So, let’s sum up once again. The main problems of today’s world are… (Слайд 15)

    The problems are clear. Now it’s time to find the effects and the solutions to them. Look at the Slide (Слайд 16). You have 4 main problems, their effects and solutions. Match three columns and then express your opinion as in the example (Слайд 17).

Now it’s your turn to suggest solutions. Look at the screen. You have other 4 urgent problems of the environment. Let’s imagine that you are members of a Green Party. Discuss your problem and suggest the ways to overcome it. Work in groups of four. (Слайд 18)
