Objectives:

Unusual types of sport
The name of this sports competition is Dragon Boat Race. People do it in China in summer. Dragon boats have ancient Chinese origins and people started to have such races 2,000 years ago. The first participants were Chinese villagers. People play drums and show a traditional Dragon dance and then teams race in special long boats. It is a lot of fun. It is a team competition. All the people in the boat have to work together to become the winners and get a prize.
The name of this sport is Chess Boxing. It is a very interesting sport. It comes from Germany. People invented it because they wanted to have a sport where people could use strength and brain. The first match was in Berlin in 2003. People take 11 three minute rounds – five boxing rounds and six rounds of chess. The winner is strong and smart. People from England, the Netherlands, France started to play it in 1992.
This competition is a little dangerous. It is called Cheese Rolling. People do it every year in England. A group of people stands on top of the hill. They need to catch a wheel of cheese that rolls down the hill. The people race after the cheese. Many of them and get hurt. The winner is the person who can catch the cheese. The prize is this head of cheese. It is a fun competition and it is interesting to watch.
