Hello! My name is Emma and I live in Canada. Today is my first day at school. I'm so excited, because I am going to see my old friends. I miss them. We had summer holidays and we didn’t see each other in summer. My new school supplies are new. I have a pink bag, a yellow pen, coloured pencils, a glue, a green pencil case, and also a notebook. But I don’t have a rubber, a ruler, a sharpener. My mum is going to buy them today. We plan to go shopping after school. My bag isn't heavy today, because I haven't got books. I love my new bag today. It’s my favourite colour.
Choose the objects she doesn’t have.
Answer the questions.
Where is Emma from?
Why is she so excited today?
What is her favourite colour?
Why isn't her bag heavy today?
Speaking
Divide your class in pairs.
Give student A a red card and student B a blue card.
Tell them to draw 5 things in their schoolbag and to colour the items.
Then they should ask each other about their bag.
Ex: A: Is there a pencil case in your schoolbag?
B: Yes, there is.
No, there isn't.
A: What colour do you think is my pencil case?
B: I think it is....

The Game "Vocabulary Basketball"
Let's finish with a fun game which will review vocabulary from this lesson as well as previous lessons. The teacher will need a basket (a wastepaper basket) and 2 balls (2 pieces of A4 paper scrunched up into a ball). Also, have flashcards for the vocabulary from this lesson as well as previous lessons - shuffle them well.
Form 2 teams and line them up so that two players from each team are facing the front with the basket in front of them. Let both players throw their ball - if they get their ball into the basket they can try and win a point by saying the correct word of the flashcard you hold up. Then they go to the back of the line. Play until all of the flashcards have been answered correctly - the team with the most points is the winner!
Summing up
I like your work today. But what do you think about your performance at the lesson? Complete the sentences about yourselves.
