Aims:

Teaching: to revise new words and phrases according to the topic, to revise the correct pronunciation of the words, to improve speaking, listening and writing skills, to activate the knowledge of the question tags.

Developing: to develop speaking skills, reading skills, and writing skills, to work effective and listen to the presentation, to rise an interests for learning English, to develop positive attitude to learning the language.

Educational: to educate independence, thinking and cleverness, to educate the feeling of implication to English-speaking countries.

Methods:

Equipment: blackboard, exercise-books, books, pictures, cards.

Type of the lesson: combined.

Expected results: : to revise new words and phrases according to the topic, to learn the correct pronunciation of the words, to improve speaking, listening and writing skills, to activate the knowledge of the Tenses, to develop speaking skills, reading skills, and writing skills. 

Procedure

I . Organisation.

Ask students to guess what are they going to do during this lesson.
ask them to say the topic and put aims for the lesson.

II. Warming-up. 

• To make an association bush with children. Ask them to say and to write their favourite kind of sport.

• After revision of kinds of sport ask them to guess where do we need to use do, play or go.

III. Main body:

1. Developing of speaking skills.

• On the blackboard as you can see, there is a flag of smth, it’s symbols, mascots, and medals. How do you think what is this?

• Yes, you are right! All these pictures refer to the Olympic games!
• What do you know about Olympic games? (Pupils answer)

2. Developing of reading. (підручник О. Карпюк) ex. 3 page 94.

• Pre-reading: presentation of new words and revision of already known words.

To compete, to take place,a motto,  interlocking,  inhabited continents,  athletes,  disability,  a flame, a mascot, to take place, to take part, across the world ( work with vocabularies)

• Reading ex. 3 page 94. Read and translate the text about Olympic games.

• Developing of listening skills. Watch the video about the history of Olympic games.
• Post-reading and post-listening: test ( true or false)

1. The Olympic Games take place every five years.

2. There are six colours on the Olympic flag: white, pink, yellow, brown, grey and red.

3. The Olympic mascot is a building that represents the country where the games take place.

3. Speaking. The 2018 Winter Olympic Games and the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games.
