ХІД УРОКУI. Introduction Today we are finishing the topic “Our Precious Planet”. We discussed the green issues that people of our Planet are concerned about and what we should do to save the Earth. And today we’ll be talking about the importance of keeping our Planet clean and beautiful, about the solutions to the problems connected with the pollution. So, the subject of the lesson today is “ See the world in you. Each of us can make adifference”. What do you think about the title? How can you explain it?( 5 minutes )

II. Vocabulary revision game  Now I’d like to offer you to play a vocabulary game. Your task is to use a synonym to explain the words or word combinations which I’m going to give you. You can have 10 seconds to think and say. All of you should stand up. III. Discussion on green issues  Before we start our discussion on green issues you’re going to watch a video about our Planet. ( video clip “Environment”) ( 3 min. ) 1. Questions for the discussion:  What do you think about the pictures you’ve just seen? Are they exciting or sad? What exactly did you see? ( polluted streets, a lot of cars, fumes from factories, trash on the streets and beaches, dying fish) Why does water become dirty? ( oil spills, trash thrown into the water) What is the result of all of that? ( air and water pollution, disappearing rainforests and endangered species, water shortages, health problems ) Do you think people can do something or it is too late? ( 7 min.)

IV. Grammar section ( group work ) I’m going to give each group parts of the Conditional sentences; one is “if” part and the other is “would”. A student from each group is reading the beginning of a sentence; the other groups have to find the end of it. The one who does this first will get a point.  If we all used bicycles, there wouldn’t be so much air pollution. If factories recycled water and stopped pouring chemicals into our lakes and rivers there would be a lot more clean water around. Animals and rare plants wouldn’t die if logging companies didn’t destroy the rain forests. Rubbish wouldn’t pollute environment if we recycled all of our waste. If water companies repaired pipes we wouldn’t waste millions of liters of water. ( 5 min. )

2 . Group work  Each group is getting a sheet of paper with one problem mentioned above. Please write suggestions and expected results. V. Checking the homework  You were given the assignment to think about the question: - What would you do if you were the leader of the country?- How would you improve the situation?  ( 5 min.)VI. Conclusion We’ve finished discussing the topic “Our Precious Planet” and I have a 3 minute video about amazing places of the world. While watching it think of one sentence about what you would promise to nature. What will you try to do or promise to do to keep our Planet green and beautiful? Start your sentence with: I promise ( not ) to... I’ll try (not) to ..., then write it on your papers and pin on the board. ( 10 min.)
