Theme: Youth and health. AIDS / HIV Prevention / Молодь і здоров’я. Профілактика СНІД/ВІЛ

Aims:

  • to learn how to communicate according to the topic of the lesson;
  • to enrich vocabulary;
  • to get the additional information on the topic;
  • to develop pupils’ skills in listening, speaking and reading;
  • to bring up pupils’ senses to care about health;
  • to bring up pupils’ humanity as to people with HIV/AIDS
  • to develop and broaden pupils’ outlook.

Обладнання: books, copybooks, cards, red ribbons, video, presentation, blackboard with epigraph.

Teacher: Last lesson we started learning a new big theme “Youth. Everyday life”.

So, what is Youth?

Pupils: Youth is …. (definition from the last lesson)

T: Ok! What periods of human life do you know?

PP: birth, childhood, toddler, teen-agers, youth, adolescence, middle age, old age

T: So, what period of life do you nave now?

P: Youth

T: Right! Now I want you to watch smth (Video 1 – Freddy Mercury)

T: So, who is this? What is he famous for?

PP: …. (variants)

T: He was the first famous person died from AIDS

Why do we all have such red reabons?

P: It’s a symbol of ….

T: Right you are

When do we have World AIDS Day?

P: It’s on the 1st of December
