IV. Speaking. Discussing.

Nowadays  people  have a great choice of shops.  I think the most popular shops are the big shopping malls, supermarkets  and online shops. Why do people like them? Your home task for today was to find information about shopping malls and online shops. I am sure you have something interesting for us.

Group 1         speak about Shopping online

Group 2        speak about Shopping in malls

Shopping malls – the place to be

You want to buy some books and some shampoo. Or look at some computer games and buy a birthday card. And you  want to have a drink and spend some time with your friends. Where do you go? The town centre? Maybe. But  we often meet, eat and hang out with our friends….in a shopping mall.

So why are the shopping malls popular? Well, they are nice and warm, there isn’t any traffic and there isn’t any rain. There is usually some music. There aren’t any parks but there are often some plants! In fact, shopping malls have everything! There are department stores, fast-food restaurants, cafes, cinemas and places to sit and relax. And there are some great shops – clothes shops, shoe shops, music shop. And they are all in the same place. The shopping  mall is the place to be.

Shopping online

We can do shopping not only  at markets and stores but also on the internet. The first online store appeared in England in 1979.

Online  shopping is a modern way of buying everything you want from your home. It is very popular nowadays. You can save your time. You can also save your money. You can also find same things online but they often cost less, than they do in a mall.

When you shop online you may find whatever you need in one click. You may also choose a colour, a style and sometimes a brand. Online shops may send you messages or e-mails you’ll be able to receive this information any time and any place. Online shopping is also an ideal way of buying goods  for extremely busy people or for disabled. To my mind, it is a very useful and convenient invention. Be careful when you  choose a website

Let’s discuss pros and cons of shopping in malls and shopping online.
