Our Planet is in Danger!Every day we hear about the worst environmental problems: Acid rain Rubbish/waste Growing population Ozone layer destruction. Pollution of any kind Greenhouse effect. Climate change Endangered animals. Deforestation Global warming etc.

New vocabulary. Danger –something bad will happen. Environment - objects or conditions by which one is surrounded. Pollution- damage caused to water, air, etc. by harmful waste. To recycle- to return material to a previous stage in a cyclic process. To reuse-use again more than once. To reduce- to become/ to make something smaller in size,amount,etc. To save – to keep and store up for future use

Read the text on page 147-149 and answer each question. To practice new vocabulary

The environment is all the things we need to be able to live - water to drink , air to breathe and healthy food to eat. Plants and animals,Land and people-so, everything that surrounds us

What can we do to protect nature?We can recycle newspapers, bottles and metal cans. We mustn’t cut down trees. Feed birds in winter. Protect wildlife, plants and trees. Keep all water clean. Don’t use aerosol sprays. Don’t use chemicals in the garden. Turn off the light when you leave the room. Don’t cut wild flowers. Try to avoid buying plastic. It’s hard to recycle.
