В 2). Today we will travel to the great country – the USA. We will speak about its geographical position, climate and political system and of course we will find out more information about some important cities and states and their places of interest.

 

 

 

 

George Washington was the first President of the United States (1789– 1797), the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, and one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th

president of the United States, serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Lincoln led the United States through its Civil War —it’s bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional and political crisis.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Theodore Roosevelt was an American

politician, author, naturalist, soldier, explorer, and historian who served as the 26th President of the United States. He was a leader of the Republican Party (GOP) and founder of the Progressive Party insurgency of 1912.

Ronald Wilson Reagan was an American actor and politician. He was the 40th President of the United States (1981–89), and served as the 33rd Governor of California (1967–75) prior to his presidency.

 

 

 

 

Barack Hussein Obama II is the 44th and current President of the United States, and the first African American to hold the office. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review. He worked as a civil rights attorney and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004.

Між братніх народів, Нью-Джерсі живе, 

Коннектикут, Меріленд поряд, 

Нехай Мен на півночі рясно цвіте,  Айдахо й Нью-Мексико в зорях. 

Для нас Оклахома у світі одна, 

Між штатів Канзасу й Техасу,  Гарніше Гаваїв, островів і нема, Природи краси Арканзасу. 

У квітці Айова, у пташці Вермонт, 

Вайомінг у думах ковбоїв, Нью-Гемпшир, 

В усмішках Вісконсин, у Юті закон,  І Делавер - штат є найперший. Не спалить пожежа ліси Каліфорнії,  ні, Стежки Колорадо й Небраски,  Мотор Мічігану не втоплять в лайні,  Віджаті в Росії простори Аляски. 

В боях патріоти Міссурі ідуть, 

Південної та Північної Кароліни, та Індіани, 

Вогонь демократії палко несуть, 

Із Джорджії, із плантацій Луїзіани. 

Юначе! Нехай буде твій для Вірджінії сміх, 

А Західній Вірджінії радості сльози,  Південну, Північну Дакоту, люби їх усіх,  Люби в Массачусетсі грози.

Attracting millions of visitors every year, the Grand Canyon  is one of the best places to visit in the USA. Located in northern Arizona, this massive natural wonder was carved by the Colorado River over a period of several million years. Botanic Garden is a botanic garden on the grounds of the United States Capitol in Washington. The Botanic Garden is supervised by the Congress through the Architect of the Capitol, who is responsible for maintaining the grounds of the United States Capitol. The USBG is open every day of the year, including federal holidays. It is the oldest continually operating botanic garden in the United States.

NEW YORK CITY

New York City is the largest city and richest port. It is the national leader in business and art. New York City was the first capital (1789-1790) of the United States. It is the financial headquarters of the world Park Avenue, Wall Street and Broadway have become synonyms of the wealth. As a cultural capital the city has its theater district and the cultural complex of Lineal Center.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 New York City is the home of the United Nations Building. City area is 320 sq. mi. The

population is round about 8,000,000. It is also famous for its sky-scrapers and the Statue of Liberty.

New York City consists of five boroughs: Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Richmond.

Manhattan is the heart of the city. It is a rocky island, 13 miles long and 2 miles wide. Manhattan is divided into 3 parts; downtown, midtown and uptown. Downtown Manhattan is the business center. Midtown and uptown Manhattan have many places of interest

 


 

 

 

 

The Bronx is situated in the north. It is a residential part of the city.

Queens is situated in the east and it is both residential and industrial part of the city.

Brooklyn is the largest in population. Its population is round about 3,000,000. It is called

“bedroom of New York”. It has its own dialect “Brooklynese”.

 

 

Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid cable-stayed/suspension bridge in New York City and is one of the oldest bridges of either type in the United States.

Completed in 1883, it connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn by spanning the East River. It has a main span of 1,595.5 feet (486.3 m). It was originally referred to as the New York and Brooklyn Bridge and as the East River Bridge, but it was later dubbed the Brooklyn Bridge.

 

Richmond is a borough of piers and warehouses. Its population is round about 200,000. The New York subway is one of the most complex subways in the world.
