Відділення «Лікувальна справа».

Тема заняття: “Superstitions in English – speaking countries and in Ukraine”.

Ціль заняття: формування  ключових языковых компетенцій на занятті  англійської мови з теми   «Забобони та повір’я англомовних країн  та України».

Форма урока: урок – гра

Мета   урока:

1. Освітня:

- активізація та вдосконалення  актуального словникового запасу здобувачів знань.

2. Развиваюча:

- развиток здатності до рефлексії як найважливішої складової уміння вчитися.

3. Виховна:

- воспитание положительного отношения к изучению иностранного языка;

- виховання шанобливого ставлення до мови та розвиток  пізнавального  інтересу до вивчення та формування пізнавальної діяльності.

 -  Оікувані результати:

Предметні: розширення об’єма знань з теми

•  Прояв інтересу до вивчення іноземної мови, формування поваги до культури мови країни,яка вивчається

Засоби навчання: комп’ютер, мультимедійна презентація, картки з завданнями, відео.

Зміст заняття.

1.          Організаційний  момент (мотивація навчальної  діяльності):

Teacher: -

•  Good morning, children! How are you today?
• I am very glad to see you again.
• Tell me, please, what date is it today?
• Look at the screen and try to guess what the topic of our lesson is?

-I see a big black cat,

Big black cat, big black cat.

What a big black cat!

What a cat! What a cat!

(Pupils try to guess the topic, suggesting different variants)

Of course, you are right; the topic is “Superstitions in Engish – speaking countries and in Ukraine?”. 

• Багато хто вірить у  надприродну силу забобонів або інтуїтивно кориться нею: ми тікаємо від жінок з пустими відрами,схрещуємо пальці на удачу та загадуємо бажання між двома Іванами. Якщо добряче вдуматися то ці механічні дії виглядають досить дивакувато. То чому ж забобони мають над нами таку владу. Про це поговоримо та дізнаємося сьогодні.

 T - Look at the screen, you can see useful words and phrases for our lesson, read and translate them:

- Good luck -                                          удача

- Bad luck                                              невдача

- To bring good/bad luck                      приносити удачу/невдачу

- To be good/bad luck                       бути щасливчиком та бути нещасливчиком

- I аm afraid of … / I аm not afraid of … Я боюся\не боюся (когось або щось)

- To believe in …                                    вірити в…

- Superstition                                       повір’я/забобон

- Superstitious                                      бути забобонним

 - Аre you superstitious?

 - Are you afraid of black cats? (Pupils’ answers)

 - What superstitions do you believe in? (Pupils’ answers)

3. Вдосконалнення навичок аудіювання, читання, говоріння.

- Now let us play a little bit.

 -You should divide into 2 teams and name them.

- For each right answer, you get a point (вчитель записує назви комнд на дошці та за кожну правильну відповідь виставляє або записує бали).

 Teacher - Your first task is to listen to the famous song about superstitions by Stevie Wonder.

T. - I give you some cards (картки з текстом пісні та словами, котрі  необхідно  вставити  в пропуски).

 T.- What should you do? (Pupils’ answers)

  T.- We should read and translate them in a chain.

• What are the bad and good luck in this song?

• Do we have the same in our country?
•  Following task will help us to answer this question.

3.2. Now have a look at the widespread superstitions that only Ukrainians will understand: try to read and translate them, using phrase “… brings bad/good luck”.

 Do it in a chain. Do not forget about points.

 - knock on the wood

 - never pass anything across the doorstep

- never give a watch as a present

- never celebrate the 40^th anniversary

- never eat from a knife

- never spill the salt

- never take the garbage out after the Sunset

- have a sit before the journey

- never come back halfway.

- carry an empty bucket

- put money into someone’s hands in the evening

- take anything out of the house at night

- put empty bottles, keys or change on the table

- give knives or clocks as a present

Right you are. These superstitions bring bad luck only.

3.3. Today we have learnt a lot about superstitions. To sum up we should draw a table and fill it in: what superstitions bring bad and good luck both in Ukraine and in English-speaking countries .

4. Заключний  етап (рефлексія навчальної  діяльності на уроці):

Now we should count the points you have got during the game.

The winner is … I think you all deserve excellent and good marks for today’s lesson.

- What did you learnt about superstitions?

- We have found out how superstitious you are. Hope you have enjoyed it.

 - Your home task is to make a poster “Superstitions all over the world” .

Try to draw the superstition and write some information about it.

Moreover, I hope that all the cats in your life will be white and you will see the only sparkling star in the sky!

TRANSLATE THE SUPERSTITIONS FROM ENGLISH INTO  UKRAINIAN.

To sum up we should draw a table and fill it in: what superstitions bring bad and good luck both in Ukraine and in English-speaking countries .
