Тема уроку. Тарас Шевченко. Taras Shevchenko.

Очікувані результати: у процесі цього уроку учні зможуть:

 ознайомитися з життєвим та творчим шляхом поета; робити самостійні висловлювання за запропонованою ситуацією на основі змісту прочитаного тексту; активізувати лексичні одиниці з теми; розвивати зорову та слухову пам'ять; виховувати в собі повагу до особистості іншої людини; розвивати соціокультурну компетентність.

Жанр уроку: урок – подорож до вернісажу.

Обладнання: портрет Т. Г. Шевченка, вірш «Кобзар» англійською мовою, вернісаж з малюнків до теми + Додаток 1,2

Хід уроку

І.  Мотивація навчальної діяльності.

  T. Dear children! I invite you to Vernissage. Look at this pictures. What can you say about them? How do you think, what do they mean? What association do they arise in your mind?

What are these pictures connected with? див. Додаток 1

 

Діти роздивляються малюнки та намагаються висловити власну думку стосовно того, з чим чи  ким вони ці малюнки асоціюють. Діти вголос називають з допомогою малюнків, що останні асоціюються в них із Тарасом Шевченком.

ІІ. Оголошення теми уроку та очікуваних результатів.

   T. The topic of our today’s lesson is “Taras Shevchenko” a national poet of Ukraine.

By the end of the lesson you should be able:

  • To exchange information on the basis of the text for reading and of a given situation;
  • To read the text and understand its gist and details despite the national difficulties;
  • To review and activate the words and word – combinations.

 

ІІІ. Надання нової інформації.

  • Знайомство з біографією поета та його творчістю. / Завдання учні готували заздалегідь. На уроці група учнів презентує свою роботу у вигляді колажу. Кожен учень демонструє свій малюнок, який стосується теми, наприклад, портрет Т.Г.Шевченка, книга «Кобзар», хата, де мешкав поет, та інші. Кожен малюнок – це малюнок асоціація. /     див. Додаток 2

Shevchenko in Washington    A brilliant Ukrainian poet and artist Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko (March 9, 1814 – March 10, 1861) was born in the village of Moryntsi in the family of serfs. He lost his mother at the age of nine. Though his father was a shepherd, he could read and write and it was possible for him to teach his children. Taras’s childhood was very hard. When Taras was eleven, his father died. So, the boy was orphaned and grew up in poverty and misery. The boy had a special talent for drawing. At the age of 14 he became a servant (“a houseboy”) in the house of his owner, P. Engelhardt. P. Engelhardt noticed Shevchenko’s artistic talent and apprenticed him to the painter V.V. Shyriayev for 4 years. At that time he met the Russian painter K. Bryulov. K. Bryulov painted the portrait of the Russian poet V. Zhukovskiy and sold it for 2500 roubles. The money was used to buy Shevchenko’s freedom from P. Engelhardt in 1838. Shevchenko was admitted to St. Petersburgh Academy of Arts where he studied under K. Bryulov.

   T. Shevchenko’s literary activity began in 1838. In 1840 he published his first collection of poems “Kobzar”. Taras Shevchenko has an important place in the Ukrainian history. He was the founder of the new Ukrainian literature. He established Ukrainian as the national literary language.

   It’s interesting to know that there is a monument to T. Shevchenko in Washington D.C., the USA.

Like a canoe upon the ocean

It first tips up and then dips down.

The cocks have not proclaimed the morning,

There’s not a sound as yet of man,

The owl in glades call out their warnings,

And ash – trees creak and creak again.
