American Schools
Hi. I am Anna-Maria and I live in Cleveland, Ohio and I am here to tell you about America and general high school system.
First we have Pre-kindergarten which is from ages like 5, 5 to 6, or even 4 to 5, 5 to 6. You gonna start at a very young age and it’s to teach you about general school like your _____, a little bit of the alphabet. So after you graduate from that you gonna start your first part of your schooling which is______. That’s when you learn your alphabet, like you are going more in depth of your alphabet, you learn words, you learn how to be compatible with other students, So then you gonna start your first grade and from 1st grade to about 1st grade to 5th grade I would say is when you are starting to _____ you are learning more vocabulary, you are learning Math, Science, Phonics, you are learning how to dictate words. So you gonna end that 5th grade, that’s your elementary school. And you gonna start your middle school which is from 6th to the 8th grade and that is when you are taking much more higher level tests, you are _______ at which high school you want to go to. After you’ve taken your tests and you’ve ______ the 8th grade you are looking into a series of schools that are, what fits your personality, what you’d like to do.
So you have a public school, which is I would say a ______of children go to. Its free , the expenses go to your parents’ taxes, you don’t have to wear uniforms. I think it’s more low key I’d say. You still have the ______ of higher classes. So there are a lot of kids. So they do wanna go to private catholic high schools, which are extremely expensive. And I’d say you have to wear uniforms, they are much more stricter, it’s a much smaller school so you become in a smaller environment. It’s a little bit more _______. They give more push towards your college so generally speaking private _______ high school costs between 8,000 to 14,000. So that is a private catholic high school. They also include religion so its base, it base a religion based curriculum. So private school/boarding school, a boarding school is where you can sleep at the school. These private boarding schools are much smaller so that is what we have in America, the different schools, high schools.
Scholarships include _______ scholarships, so those can range from 500$ scholarships to 2,000$ scholarships. So it’s basically if you could play an instrument or you can sing, and a director see if they want to give you money to come to that school. Here you have academic scholarship. So if your place ____ high and their tests that they give you can get up to 5,000$. You also can get a financial aid so that’s basically help from the school, you fill up the form and they give you scholarships _________ how much you are qualified for.
