HOME ALONE

Home Alone is a 1990 American comedy film. It stars Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, and Catherine O'Hara. The plot tells about an 8-year-old boy (Culkin), who must protect his large house from 2 burglars (Pesci and Stern) after his family accidentally leaves him behind on their Christmas vacation. The film received many movie awards and became one of the highest-grossing comedy films in the USA. To this day, it remains one of the best Christmas comedy films ever made. A lot of families all over the world adore watching it again and again from Christmas to Christmas.

The film is exciting and funny. It will make you laugh a lot.

HARRY POTTER AND THE PHILOSOPHER’S STONE

It is a 2001 fantasy film directed by Chris Columbus. It is based on J. K. Rowling's 1997 novel of the same name. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, with Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. The plot of the film tells about an orphan boy whose name is Harry Potter. The boy lives with his evil aunt and uncle who constantly mock and humiliate him. But everything changes as Harry discovers that he is a powerful wizard and begins his education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There he finds himself inside a magic world he never knew about. The film became the highest-grossing film of 2001, was nominated for many awards and was followed by seven sequels.

The film is absolutely fantastic, gripping and moving.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS:

THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RINGS

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is a 2001 epic fantasy adventure film directed by Peter Jackson, based on the first volume of J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. The film is set in Middle-earth where the young hobbit Frodo Baggins receives the main Ring which the Dark Lord Sauron looks for in order to commit evil. The fate of Middle-earth is in hands of Frodo and his eight companions who form the Fellowship of the Ring. They set off on their journey to Mount Doom in the land of Mordor, the only place where the Ring can be destroyed. It is the second highest-grossing film of 2001 after Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The film has spectacular visual effects, fascinating sound track and excellent plot, but it is rather depressing.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a 2005 musical fantasy film directed by Tim Burton and based on the 1964 British novel of the same name by Roald Dahl. The film stars Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka and Freddie Highmore as Charlie Bucket. The storyline tells about Charlie as he wins a contest along with four other children and is led by Wonka on a tour of his chocolate factory. On that tour some of the children will learn difficult lessons about themselves, and one will go on to become Wonka's new right hand.

The animation and acting in the film are pretty convincing.

BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA

Bridge to Terabithia is a 2007 American fantasy adventure film. The film, released by Walt Disney Pictures, is based on Katherine Paterson's 1977 novel of the same name. Filming took place mainly in New Zealand. Bridge to Terabithia tells the story of bullied kids Jesse Aarons and Leslie Burke, 12-year-old neighbours who create a whole new fantasy world called Terabithia to escape reality and spend their free time together in an abandoned tree house.

The film has dynamic visual effects. It is really moving and can make you cry rather frequently.

AVATAR

Avatar is a 2009 American epic science fiction film directed by James Cameron, famous for his 1997 Titanic. The two main characters are played by Sam Worthington (Jake) and Zoë Saldaña (Neytiri). The story is set in 2154 on Pandora, a moon of a faraway planet. Some humans have travelled from Earth to Pandora because it is a source of a very valuable mineral called unobtanium. Pandora is inhabited by the Na'vi. They are blue-skinned humanoids that are stronger and taller than humans. The human scientists on Pandora want to learn about the Na'vi's culture. To do this, they have created "avatars". Avatars are Na'vi bodies modified with human DNA. These avatars try to create peace with the Na'vi people, but a war breaks out. To this day, Avatar remains one of the highest-grossing movies. It was nominated for 9 Academy Awards. The film has a stunning computer animation and spectacular visual effects, but it is a little depressing and complicated.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is a 2010 fantasy-adventure film based on the third novel in C. S. Lewis's fantasy series The Chronicles of Narnia. It is the third and final film in the original Chronicles of Narnia series. Filming took place mainly in Australia and New Zealand. The film is set 3 Narnian years after the events of Prince Caspian. The two youngest Pevensie siblings, Edmund and Lucy, are carried back to Narnia along with their cousin Eustace. They join the new king of Narnia, Caspian, in his quest to rescue 7 lost lords and to save Narnia from an evil that resides on a dark island. Each character is tested as they travel to the home of the great lion Aslan at the far end of the world.

The film is inspiring; it has spectacular special effects and a compelling plot.

FROZEN

Frozen is a 2013 American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Snow Queen". It tells the story of a brave princess who sets off on a journey alongside a little rude but honest iceman, his loyal reindeer, and a naive snowman to find her sister, whose icy powers have trapped their kingdom in eternal winter.

The film has fascinating animated visual effects, a compelling plot and really catchy music.
