The bird’s friends

                                                                                                            It was a cold winter day. Steve and Lucy were at home. It was warm in the room. Lucy looked out of the window and saw a little bird. She said to Steve, “Oh, look, Steve! There is a little bird in the tree. I think the bird is cold and wants to eat.”

“Let’s give it some bread and apples,” said Steve.

“That’s a good idea. Birds like fruit.”

The children gave the bird some bread and an apple.

The bird ate the bread and the apple and said, “Cheep! Cheep, cheep!”

The bird said, “Thank you very much, Lucy and Steve!"
