Activity Title: Tag Questions in Context: It’s Time to Read

Grade: 8th Grade

Topic: Tag Questions (It’s Time to Read)

Aim:

To practise forming tag questions in different tenses and to develop reading comprehension and teamwork skills.

Materials:

•Envelopes with sentences in different tenses

•Flipchart with pictures related to reading topics

•Markers

Activity Description:

Pupils work in groups. Each group receives an envelope with sentences written in different tenses. All the sentences are related to the topic “It’s Time to Read”.

The task is to:

1. Read the sentences carefully.

2. Add the correct tag question to each sentence.

3. Find a picture on the flipchart that matches the meaning of the sentence.

After that, pupils stick the sentence next to the chosen picture and read it aloud with the correct tag question.
