Ukraine is a European country

                                        ( Інтегрований урок у 8 класі )

Мета: - вчити учнів вести дискусію про Україну, географічне положення,

              клімат на англійській мові, користуючись знаннями з географії;

• розвивати навички непідготовленого мовлення, говоріння, аудіювання за темою;
• виховувати повагу до рідної країни

Обладнання: підручники, зошити, карта України, атлас України, картки.

Т:Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. We’ll have to tell our foreign friends about our country. They are from five English - speaking states the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Every team has one representative from Ukraine. Therefore, it will be the lessons of English and Geography.

Askania –Nova Natural Reserve

It is one of the seven natural wonders of Ukraine. It covers the area of 33 thousand hectares. One third of the Reserve is the virgin steppe. Askania –Nova contains more than 900 species of plants. One excursion to the Reserve substitutes for one trip around the world. You can see African zebras, American bison, Scotch ponies, deer and lamas. All animals live in the natural habitat. 69 species of animals have entered the Red Book of Ukraine.

Askania –Nova was founded by Frederich F. Falz-Fein in 1828. His parents presented him the enclosure for birds. Then steppe animals appeared in the preservation. He had a fancy for wild life. So the hobby of a young man became his business. During his first years he brought kangaroos, ostriches, Australian emus, Tibetan yaks, and the horses of Przhevalskiy to the Natural Reserve. The pride of the Reserve is saiga, the oldest animal on the planet, the coevals of mammoths. One of the treasures of Askania –Nova is antelope.

The migratory way of birds from New Guinea comes above the Reserve. 270 species of birds fly above the Reserve twice a year. 2000 species of birds live there.

140 thousand tourists visit Askania –Nova every year.  The Natural Reserve is enjoyable and memorable attraction not only in Ukraine, because the UNESCO entered it as a model of the Natural Reserve on the Earth.
