Aim: to present the new vocabulary and practice its using;

to practice  the pronunciation of the English sounds;

to develop pupils’ memory, creativity, leadership;

to encourage students to be polite and friendly to pets;

Learning objectives/outcomes: by the end of the lesson pupils will be able to use the vocabulary, act out the dialogues and describe the pets.

Materials: flash cards, CD player, video resources, Fly High 1, posters.

                                Procedure of the lesson

Greeting: Rhyme “ Good morning” 

                 Are you ready for the lesson? – Yes, we are. We are ready for the lesson let us speak English again.

  Act out the dialogues “How are you today?”

It’s time to listen to the voice and be ready to complete my sentence ( the voice of the cat). So today we are going to speak … about pets.

Yes , you are right. We are going to speak about pets. I am sure , you will be active and smart. We will do lots of tasks at our lesson. I wish you good luck!

Look at the board and let us open our flash cards, choose the number and meet the word

What is it? It’s a friendly  dog. It’s a long snake….

Now you are ready to play the “ Mime game” ( Is it a funny parrot?- Yes, it is)

Make a circle and  recite our motto” Together” . The next our game is “ Chinese  whisper”( a fat hamster, a small fish, a nice cat…)

PB p.69,ex.8 look at the pictures , you can see some pets. Listen to a speaker and circle YES or NO

What pets has Fiona  got? Has she got a turtle/snail /spider/mouse?

Take one clothespin and make a pair, we will  act out the dialogues “At the Pet Shop”
