It’s time to celebrate .Thanksgiving Day

 

Цілі уроку:

Практичні:

- навчити учнiв  вживати лексичний матеріал по темі «Thanksgiving  Day» ;

 - удосконалювати навички аудіювання, читання, мовлення.

Освітні :

   -повторення, закріплення і вживання  лексики  по темі «Свята».

  -поглиблення знань учнів про культуру, історію, реалії і традиції США   

Розвиваючi :

- розвиток творчої уяви, пам'яті, логічного мислення учнів, емоційності, активності, швидкостi реакції.

Виховнi:

-виховання  почуття поваги, вдячності, толерантності, взаємодопомоги під час роботи в парах i групах, стимулювання інтересу учнів до вивчення англійської мови.

Соціокультурний аспект:

- залучення учнів до культури, традицій і реалій країни виучуваної мови, надання можливості для комунікативного використання англійської мови.

Обладнання:

-комп'ютер, комп'ютерна презентація уроку, проектор, екран, музичний відео сюжет, газети, картинки з атрибутами Дня Подяки, роздатковий матеріал по темі уроку з завданнями.

1. T. Good morning,my dear pupils! We begin our lesson. You know much about traditions of British festivals: about Christmas, Easter, St.Valentine’s Day, about Halloween.

But today we’ll speak about one more holiday. You’ll know about history, symbols and about traditions of this day.

1620 one hundred Pilgrims came to America from England. They came on board the ship “Mayflower”. The Native Americans(Indians) helped the Pilgrims. They taught them to plant corn,  to build houses, to fish and to hunt. In the autumn of 1621 the Pilgrims had their first harvest. They decided to have a special dinner. The Pilgrims invited the Native Americansto their dinner. It lasted three days. Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday. The families come together for a special dinner. The traditional food on Thanksgiving Day is turkey, corn bread, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pies, beans, nuts and sauce made from cranberries.  Shops, classrooms and homes are decorated with turkeys, Pilgrims, Indians, flowers and vegetables. Every Thanksgiving Day there is a very big paradein New York City. One of the traditions of this festival is to send greeting cards.
