Theme: The Weather.

Learning Outcomes: to enable pupils to apply what they have learnt about the weather;

                   to make weather posters;

                   to promote thinking and analytical skills;

                   to review what pupils have learnt in the lesson

Objectives: by the end of the lesson students will be able to

  •              understand the new vocabulary;
  •              use it in speaking and writing;
  •              make posters with new words

Basic competences:

  • Language competence: pupils talk about Science in English.
  • Cultural awareness and expression: pupils find out what the weather is like in other countries and in Ukraine.
  • Social and civic competences: pupils work together to ask and answer about their pictures.

Materials: CD, coloured cards, sheets of paper, coloured pens and pencils, weather pictures, maps.

  • Give the pupils letters to make a words with the weather in Ukraine.

  • Pupils make words in pairs and find out that in Ukraine we have got all types of the weather.

  • Ps take sheets of paper and draw their own weather forecast in the world.
  • Encourage the pupils to talk about their posters as they are working
  • Pupils hold up and talk about their posters in pairs to the class

Pupils find out what the weather is like in other countries

Pupils talk about Science in English.

Pupils review what they have learnt in the lesson
