Lesson 3                              Тема: My Favourite Day

Мета:

Практична:

1.        удосконалювати навички використання лексичного та граматичного матеріалу за темою в усному та писемному мовленні;
2.        практикувати вміння ставити запитання та відповідати на запитання у Present Simple по темі уроку;
3.        удосконалювати навички усного і писемного мовлення за темою уроку;
4.        удосконалювати навички читання тексту;
5.        формувати навички пошукового читання тексту;
6.        навчити розповідати про свій робочий день з опорою на схему;
7.        розвивати уміння вести бесіду про улюблений день, працювати в парах та в команді, вести інтерв’ю.

Освітня:

1.        розширити знання учнів з теми;
2.        зацікавити учнів у вдосконаленні навиків діалогічного та монологічного мовлення  по темі.

Розвиваюча:

1.        розвивати навички монологічного та діалогічного мовлення по темі на основі засвоєної лексики та граматичних структур;
2.        розвивати слухову пам’ять та логічне мислення;
3.        розвивати культуру спілкування учнів по темі;
4.        розвивати зацікавленість у спілкуванні англійською мовою.

Виховна:

1.        виховувати раціональність використання свого особистого часу; 
2.        виховувати поважне ставлення до розпорядку дня та захоплень іншого.

Objectives: pupils are able to describe school things and talk about school subjects and daily activities using new vocabulary, language and grammar material.

Materials: Welcome 2(PB, WB), audio material, topical pictures, handouts.

Procedure

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

1. Greeting and Aim.

T: Good afternoon, pupils! Glad to see you. How are you today?

T: Today we’ll go on the topic and talk about “My Favourite Day”. By the end of the lesson you should be able to talk about your / your friend’s favourite day, be able to work in team and interview your friend.

2. Warming up.

1) T: Dear boys and girls, let’s sing a song: “I always go to school!” (ex.8 p.41)

2) T: All of you are quite smart and witty boys and girls and I’d like you to imagine yourself being poets. What verses can you add to this song telling about things you do on weekdays? (Children produce own verses.)

3) T: Excellent! You’re great poets! And now, let’s play such a game as “Simon says!” Do you remember the rules? Great! We’ll play with everyday activities today. Let’s start! (Children play the game.)

3. Check on Homework.

1) Pupils act out ex.3 p.38 (PB). Role-play.

2) Check up ex.2, 4, 7, 8 on p.24-27 (WB).

3) Pupils tell the story about Ben’s favourite day (WB: ex. 8 p.27) and ask each other questions to the text.

II. Основна частина уроку.

1. Listening and reading.

1.        T: Open your books on p.40, ex.1. Listen, read, and put a tick or a cross to say if the sentences are true or false.
2.        T: Read the text once again and fill in the chart.

3.        T:  Now, children, let’s have a team competition.

Task I. Teams take turns in asking and answering questions to the text. Each correct answer gets one point. The team with the most points is the winner.

2. Writing.

1.        Task II. Teams get the task to put the words in the correct order to make a complete sentence (Pupils get Handouts). The team gets 1 point for each correct sentence.
2.        Task III. Team work: “Presentation story”. Whose story is better? Team A gets the picture of a boy Eddy and makes up a story about Eddy’s favourite day. Team B gets the picture of a girl Cindy and makes up a story about Cindy’s favourite day. Teams make up presentation stories and present them to the class.

3. Twister. Listen and repeat.

I have one hour of Art and half an hour of History!

Focus pupil’s attention on how h is pronounced. Write the following list of words on the board: hat, hand, hello, hair, head, hour, house, helicopter  etc. Ask pupils to add more words to the list. Read the words and pupils repeat chorally and individually. Point to various words in random order. Individual pupils say the words.

4. Speaking.

1.        T: Now, interview your partner about his/her working day. Use the following phrases to start and finish:

P1: Good morning! Can I ask you some questions?

P2: Yes, of course!

P1: What time do you….? / When do you…?  etc.

P1: Thank you for your time. Goodbye!

    (Pupils produce own dialogues.)

2.        T: Let’s play a guessing game: “What does Barry do on his favourite day?” (Ex.7p. 41)

ІІІ. Заключна частина уроку.

1. Homework.

Project: “My Favourite Day”/ “My Friend’s Favourite Day”

2. Summarizing.

1.        T: You were good at the lesson today. Your marks are …
2.        T: What did you do at the lesson? What did you learn? What can you do now?
