Objectives: pupils are able to describe school things and talk about school subjects and daily activities using new vocabulary, language and grammar material.
Materials: Welcome 2(PB, WB), audio material, topical pictures, handouts.
Procedure
І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.
1. Greeting and Aim.
T: Good afternoon, pupils! Glad to see you. How are you today?
T: Today we’ll go on the topic and talk about “My Favourite Day”. By the end of the lesson you should be able to talk about your / your friend’s favourite day, be able to work in team and interview your friend.
2. Warming up.
1) T: Dear boys and girls, let’s sing a song: “I always go to school!” (ex.8 p.41)
2) T: All of you are quite smart and witty boys and girls and I’d like you to imagine yourself being poets. What verses can you add to this song telling about things you do on weekdays? (Children produce own verses.)
3) T: Excellent! You’re great poets! And now, let’s play such a game as “Simon says!” Do you remember the rules? Great! We’ll play with everyday activities today. Let’s start! (Children play the game.)
3. Check on Homework.
1) Pupils act out ex.3 p.38 (PB). Role-play.
2) Check up ex.2, 4, 7, 8 on p.24-27 (WB).
3) Pupils tell the story about Ben’s favourite day (WB: ex. 8 p.27) and ask each other questions to the text.

Task I. Teams take turns in asking and answering questions to the text. Each correct answer gets one point. The team with the most points is the winner.
I have one hour of Art and half an hour of History!
Focus pupil’s attention on how h is pronounced. Write the following list of words on the board: hat, hand, hello, hair, head, hour, house, helicopter etc. Ask pupils to add more words to the list. Read the words and pupils repeat chorally and individually. Point to various words in random order. Individual pupils say the words.
P1: Good morning! Can I ask you some questions?
P2: Yes, of course!
P1: What time do you….? / When do you…? etc.
P1: Thank you for your time. Goodbye!
(Pupils produce own dialogues.)
