Тема уроку:   St.Valentines  Day 

Навчальна мета: навчити учнів використовувати вивчену лексику у різних мовленнєвих ситуаціях ; удосконалювати навики читання та письма, вміння висловлюватися за темою.

Розвиваюча мета: розвивати  навички говоріння в процесі творчого спілкування учнів між собою

Виховна мета: виховувати повагу учнів до народних традицій та свят;

Тип уроку: комбінований.

Міжпредметні зв’язки:  рідна мова та література, історія, світова література.

Обладнання: вислови про любов, газета до свята, картки із завданнями, ПК запис пісні «I just want…»,проектор                                                       

ХІД УРОКУ

І.Організаційна частина.

T: Good morning, boys and girls!How are you today? I am glad to see you

ІІ. Актуалізація опорних знань учнів.

   Т: People are proud of their traditions and have kept them up for hundreds of years. ! Which holiday do we celebrate on the 14th of February? Today we will learn about the history, customs and traditions of this holiday – Saint Valentine’s Day.

   T: Our lesson I want to begin with the words  written by  A.Cristie:”Anyone who has never really loved has never really lived ”Do you agree with these words? How do you understand them?    

1. Активізація лексики за темою.

   T: All right, it is love and a very romantic holiday of those who are in love ―St.Valentine’s Day.  Let”s have a look at some new words connected with this holiday.

     To love/to fall in love/being in love―любити

     A gift―подарунок

     Sweetheart―закоханий(а)

     Suffer―страждати

     Valentines―”валентинки”

     Вroken heart―розбите серце

     Patron―покровитель

     Love message―повідомлення

     Honey―розм.люба

     ІV. Основна частина уроку.

Teacher: Now let’s learn more about St. Valentine.

1.Перегляд та обговорення презентації

St. Valentine’s Day has its roots in several legends. This is the legend of how St. Valentine’s Day began.Valentine lived in Rome in the times of the emperor Claudius II nearly 17 centuries ago. When Roman Emperor Claudius II needed soldiers, he made a law against marrying because he felt that mar-riage made men want to stay at home instead of fighting wars. But the priest Valentine couldn’t agree with the Emperor’s decision. When he saw that young couples were truly in love, he married them secretly.He was caught and put into prison and sentenced to the death.

Once a young girl came to him. She was the prison guard’s daughter. She was blind and I treated her blindness. Her father let her visit him sometimes. They talked for hours and she helped him to be brave. Nevertheless, the day of his execution came. Valentine wrote her a little final farewell message where he thanked her for the friendship and he signed below “Love from your Valentine”. It was on the 14th of February 269. Since then people have always remembered about Valentine.

Today, over one billion are sent worldwide, with women sending 85 per cent (10) them. Different companies slowly saw the opportunities to make money from Valentine’s Day.    Teacher: There are also many songs about love. You like to sing them. I suggest listening to one of these songs. It is called “I just want ”.

   T: Thank you very much for a well-done job. In my opinion, you all are real experts and know many facts about Valentine’s Day celebrations and love. During our lesson those pupils whose answers were correct will get such marks…Love makes the world go round. So let us love and be loved by others.I wish you and your families true love because where there is love, there is life. I have some presents for you.These  are red balloons and there some messages inside.You have to to read the message.And let these small paper of red colour remind you about this lesson.

   T: At home you have to write about your ways of celebration st Valentine’s day.
