на основі прочитаного, вчити аудіюванню з метою пошуку
специфічної інформації.
Розвивати мовну реакцію, оперативну пам'ять, розвивати уяву,
вміння логічно, послідовно викладати думки іноземною мовою.
Розвивати культуру читання, слухову та короткотривалу пам’ять,
слуховий контроль:
Розширювати діапазон соціокультурних знань учнів за темою.
Виховувати усвідомлення необхідності пізнання нового,
старанність у навчанні, чіткість у виконанні завдань.

T.: Today during our lesson you will:
- summarize information about TV;
- make up dialogues about your favourite TV programmes;
- practice specific vocabulary in speech;
- listen to the text “Now showing” about films’ genres, check its understanding;
- read the text about а popular TV star, find missing information.

2.1. Фонетичні вправи.
T. To begin with let’s clear up the meaning of the words given on the blackboard. A lot of people make TV work. Let’s remember their professions (на проекторній дошці подані слова, які означають назви професій людей, зайнятих у кіно та на телебаченні)
Director, producer, composer, actor, actress, cameraman, assistant etc.
(учні читають, перекладають. Вчитель зауважує на схожість їх утворення, вказує на вимову ненаголошеного суфікса –er, -or, пропонує утворити нові слова від назв інших кіно- та теле – професій, на приклад, костюмер – costumier, гример – make-up man, etc.)

T.: Speaking about TV we’ve mentioned that it gives up opportunity to get acquainted with cinematography masterpieces. So, we can make a conclusion that TV and cinema are inseparable. I’m sure everybody likes films. You should know that Americans call films “movies”. There are a lot of movie genres. Let’s recollect some of them. So, what movie genres do you remember?

T.: Now before listening to the tape, I want you to match pictures with movie genres. (Учні отримують роздатковий матеріал, на якому зображені кадри із різних за жанрами кінофільмів. Вони підписують жанр фільму під кадром. Один учень працює біля дошки. Потім перевіряється правильність виконання.)

Now Showing
Hollywood in Southern California is the movie capital of the world. Many films have been made there, and the genres, or kinds, have changed often.
From the early-to-mid 1930’s, movie-goers got a look at the people involved in crime and their violent activities by watching gangster movies. After all this violence, people needed to laugh, so from the mid –to-late 1930’s, comedies became very popular.
In the 1940’s, many detective movies about policemen who solved crimes were made. Then came musicals, in which the story was told in songs and dance.
Musicals were especially popular in the late ‘40’s and early ‘50’s, but the mid-fiftieth, this light-hearted genre was competing with films about more serious subjects. There was one kind that could be found throughout all of these eras, and that was the western, films about America’s cowboys, Indians and early settlers.
Since the early ‘60’s, movie-goers have had a variety of movies to choose from. There are, for example, horror movies about people who encounter frightening, unnatural situations. There are also serious films such as documentaries about events that have actually happened, and science fiction movies about possible future events and future worlds. Some people have also enjoyed watching psycho-dramas about the everyday problems that people have.
Of course, no list of films would be complete without animated movies, which tell stories through a series of colourful drawings. These are especially popular among children.

T.: It’s not a secret that a successful movie wouldn’t exist without a star cast. And today we are going to read about one of the most popular Hollywood stars. Guess the name. This person was a star in such movies as “Blood is Red”, “Steel Magnolias”, “The Mexican”, “Pretty Woman”, “To Die Young ”, “The Bride”.
